Mets pitcher Erik Goeddel nearing rehab assignment

(7/26/2015) Mets pitcher Erik Goeddel is nearing his rehab assignment after throwing a recent bullpen session and reporting no issues, reports ESPN.com. Goeddel has been on the disabled list since June 12 with a right elbow strain.

(6/15/2015) The MRI on Mets reliever Erik Goeddel's elbow came back inconclusive, per NJ.com. He will head to the team's spring complex in Florida, and the Mets will have a better idea about his status in 7-10 days.

Mets recall Danny Muno as Erik Goeddel lands on DL

(6/12/2015) The Mets placed reliever Erik Goeddel on the 15-day disabled list Friday due to a right elbow strain. To take his roster spot, infielder Danny Muno was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Goeddel tossed a scoreless eighth inning during a 5-4 win Thursday against the Giants. He has been an extremely effective reliever for New York in 2015, posting a 1.96 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 22 relief outings. He also has 23 strikeouts in 23 innings.

Muno has appeared in 11 games for the Mets, batting .100 (2 for 20) with no extra-base hits, no RBI, one stolen bases, two walks and nine strikeouts.


Mets place Jenrry Mejia on DL, recall Erik Goeddel

(4/7/2015) The Mets will place pitcher Jenrry Mejia on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 5, and recall pitcher Erik Goeddel, the team announced Tuesday.

An MRI revealed Tuesday that Mejia has avoided structural damage in his elbow, but he'll rest after receiving a cortisone shot for the inflammation. Jeurys Familia will fill in as the team's closer while Mejia remains out.

Goeddel surrendered two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings in his major-league debut last season. He posted a 5.37 ERA and 64:30 K:BB ratio in 63 2/3 Triple-A innings last season.

(4/5/2015) The Mets have optioned outfielder Eric Campbell and pitcher Erik Goeddel to Triple-A Las Vegas, the team announced.

Campbell hit .246 with two home runs and nine RBI in 57 plate appearances this spring while Goeddel posted a 3.86 ERA with 10 strikeouts and two walks in 12 appearances.

(3/10/2014) The Mets made several roster moves Monday, which included optioning Erik Goeddel, Steven Matz, Josh Edgin and Wilfredo Tovar to the minors. Logan Verrett, Adam Kolarek, Chasen Bradford, Dustin Lawley, Brandon Nimmo, Cory Vaughn, Danny Muno and Kevin Plawecki were also reassigned to minor-league camp.
