by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(5/7/2014) Recently demoted Braves reliever Ian Thomas debuted a new pitch in his return to Triple-A Gwinnett Tuesday, as he tossed a handful of sliders in three innings of work.

Thomas was sent down in order to get some work in, and is attempting to add a slider to his arsenal for the first time since college. He put up a 4.26 ERA in 10 appearances out of the Braves' bullpen, and could be in line for a call up if the team requires another left-handed reliever down the road.
