Eric Jokisch has some command issues in first career start

(9/27/2014) Cubs pitcher Eric Jokisch had some command issues in his first career start Friday night against the Brewers.

Jokisch, who failed to factor into the decision, allowed a solo home run to Jean Segura in the second and allowed a run to score on a throwing error in the third. He was charged with two runs -- one earned -- on three hits and four walks while striking out two over four innings pitched. Of his 86 pitches, 41 were strikes.

Jokisch owns a 1.88 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP over 14 1/3 innings of work this season.


Cubs set final rotation plans, send Edwin Jackson to bullpen

(9/23/2014) The Cubs announced the probable starters for the final series of the season Tuesday, tabbing Eric Jokisch to face the Brewers Friday, Tsuyoshi Wada to take the mound Saturday and Kyle Hendricks to pitch the season's final game Sunday.

With the news, Edwin Jackson has been moved to the bullpen for the remainder of the season.


Cubs add seven as rosters expand

(9/2/2014) The Cubs added seven players to their expanded roster Tuesday, the team announced.

The team called up pitchers Brian Schlitter, Dan Straily, Arodys Vizcaino and Zac Rosscup , along with outfielder Junior Lake , while selecting the contracts of pitcher Eric Jokisch and catcher Rafael Lopez from Triple-A Iowa. 


Cubs option four, re-assign five Wednesday

(3/12/2014) The Cubs optioned infielders Arismendy Alcantara and Logan Watkins and outfielders Jorge Soler and Matt Szczur Wednesday, while also re-assigning infielders Kris Bryant and Jeudy Valdez, outfielder Albert Almora and pitchers Carlos Pimentel and Eric Jokisch to minor-league camp.
