(6/27/2015) Astros pitching prospect Michael Feliz, who has been hot lately at Double-A Corpus Christi, has left that team, a source has told the Houston Chronicle, which is reporting that he is the likely replacement for just-demoted Brett Oberholtzer.

The 22-year-old Feliz has been used both as a starter and in relief in the minors after a one-inning stint with Houston in late May. He has allowed one run on six hits over his last 10 innings pitched, but still owns a mediocre 4.25 ERA on the year.

Feliz was called up from Double-A when starter Scott Feldman was placed on the 15-day disabled list earlier this week.

(5/29/2015) The Astros have placed veteran right-handed starter Scott Feldman on the 15-day disabled list after he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to repair a torn medial meniscus. He is expected to be sidelined about six weeks.

The team has promoted starting pitcher Michael Feliz from Double-A to take his place on the roster. He could work out of the bullpen.

Brett Oberholtzer has been mentioned as the leading candidate to replace Feldman in the rotation.

Feldman has performed well in 2015, playing a role in the team's surprising start. He has six quality starts in his last eight outings.
