Phillies reassign Rodrigo Lopez to minor-league camp by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(3/19/2013) The Phillies have reassigned pitcher Rodrigo Lopez to minor-league camp. Lopez, 37, was competing for a spot at the back-end of the team’s rotation during the spring. Lopez had been pitching well until Monday, when he gave up seven earned runs over two innings of work.
Lopez will likely slot into the club’s Triple-A rotation, and will be one of the first pitchers called up if the Phillies lose a starter. In 1,350 2/3 career innings, Lopez has a 4.82 ERA and a 4.73 FIP.
