Andres Torres signs minor-league deal with Red Sox

Torrest appeared in 103 games for the Giants a year ago, hitting .250/.302/.342, but failed to find any suitors after his team option was declined.

(2/14/2014) Free-agent outfielder Andres Torres is drawing interest from four or five teams but is waiting for the right opportunity before signing a deal, MLBDailyDish.com reports.

Torres hit .250/.302/.342 with two home runs, 21 RBI and four stolen bases in 272 at-bats with the Giants last season, but his season ended prematurely due to a heel injury that required surgery. The team declined his 2014 option in November, making Torres a free agent.
