Omar Infante off to another hot start
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/14/2013) It might not be quite the start he had to begin the 2012 season, but Tigers second baseman Omar Infante has begun the 2013 season with a .382 average thanks to a nine-game hitting streak.
You don't need me to tell you that Infante didn't sustain his torrid pace last season and likely won't perform this well for the entire season in '13, but Infante is surely worth a look heading into Week 3 (April 15-21), especially if you are a Fantasy owner that might have a hole to fill at second base. Gordon Beckham, Danny Espinosa and Jason Kipnis owners might find Infante (owned 46 percent of leagues) useful as a stopgap option.

He's a nice defensive player. He can get a big hit. He's a pretty good hitter. He's nice down there at the bottom for us. The thing I like about it, too, we're not a speed team, obviously. However, all of a sudden you've got Omar at nine, (Austin) Jackson one, (Torii) Hunter two. That's pretty good. Those guys all get around the bases."
