(4/17/2007) On Monday at Washington, LHP Steve Colyer made his first appearance in the majors since Oct. 1, 2004, when he pitched for Detroit against Tampa Bay. He allowed two hits while striking out three batters in 1 2/3 innings.
Braves make a few roster moves
(4/14/2007) The Atlanta Braves placed reliever Chad Paronto on the 15-day disabled list Saturday and sent left-hander Macay McBride to the minors to deal with control problems. Paronto hobbled off the field Friday night during the seventh inning of an 11-4 loss to Florida. He strained a muscle near his groin while throwing a pitch. McBride, who was expected to serve in a setup role out of the bullpen, walked 11 batters in his first three innings of work. He was sent to Triple-A Richmond to work on his mechanics. Atlanta recalled right-hander Peter Moylan and lefty Steve Colyer to fill the openings on their 12-man staff.

(12/19/2005) Relief pitchers Bret Prinz and Steve Colyer agreed Monday to minor-league contracts with the Rockies. Colyer, a 26-year-old left-hander, was 4-2 with a 5.67 ERA in 28 appearances last season for the Mets' Triple-A Norfolk team. He was on the DL twice because of a strained left knee. In 54 major-league appearances since 2003, he is 1-0 with a 5.05 ERA.
