Blake Wood, Brett Myers to pitch Monday

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(6/23/2013) The Indians announced Sunday that injured pitchers Blake Wood (elbow) and Brett Myers (elbow) will each throw one inning in relief with Class A Mahoning Valley Monday, MLB.com reports.

Myers, who was moved to the 60-day DL earlier in June, may be moving to relief for the Indians. He's been out since April 20. Wood has been rehabbing over several different minor league levels. He's also on the 60-day DL, but is already eligible to return.

Cleveland in search of closer

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(5/27/2013) The Indians are in need of a closer and there is currently no word on who that will be after the Tribe placed Chris Perez on the disabled list Monday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Cleveland called up Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus, but he'll be middle relief help. The logical choices are Joe Smith and Cody Allen, and Brett Myers also has experience closing games. That said, Myers has been used as a starter for Cleveland and is also on the shelf.

Vinnie Pestano could be another option, but he just came off the DL and has shown lowered velocity to this point.

Rain reshuffles Indians' rotation

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(4/11/2013) For the second straight day, the Yankees and Indians were postponed by rain, cutting a four-game series in half. The inclement weather also forced Cleveland to adjust its starting rotation to the following order: Justin Masterson (Friday against the White Sox), Zach McAllister (Saturday), Brett Myers (Sunday) and Ubaldo Jimenez (Tuesday against Boston).
