Phillies sign Chris Bootcheck to minor-league deal

(7:22 pm ET) The Phillies have signed pitcher Chris Bootcheck to a minor-league deal, MLBDailyDish.com reports. The deal does not include an invitation to spring training.

Bootcheck went 10-7 with a 3.69 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 97:41 K:BB ratio in 136 2/3 innings over 24 appearances (23 starts) with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season while also making one appearance with the Yankees.

(6/18/2013) The Yankees designated reliever Chris Bootcheck for assignment Tuesday. He had been added to the New York bullpen over the weekend and gave up a run on two hits and two walks over one inning in his lone appearance. 

Bootcheck must pass through waivers to remain in the Yankees organization.

(6/14/2013) The Yankees recalled relief pitcher Chris Bootcheck from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Friday. He hasn't played in the majors since giving up 18 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings for the Pirates in 2009.

Bootcheck has made 11 starts in Triple-A this season, going 5-2 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 50:19 K:BB ratio in 62 1/3 innings.
