(11/28/2007) Left-hander Mike Bacsik, who gave up Barry Bonds' record-breaking 756th homer, agreed to terms on a minor league deal with the Nationals. Bacsik was among 19 minor league free agents the Nationals announced Tuesday agreed to contracts and were invited to spring training. The other minor league free agents, several of whom have major league experience, are right-handers Steven Shell, Dennis Tankersley, Bobby Brownlie, Tristan Crawford and Jim Ed Warden; left-handers Mike Hinckley, Arnie Munoz and Jason Stanford; catchers Humberto Cota and Chad Moeller; infielders William Bergolla, Yurendell de Caster, Antonio Perez, Luis Jimenez and Ed Rogers; and outfielders Jason Dubois, Tommy Murphy and Jorge Padilla.

(10/11/2007) The Nationals outrighted pitchers Mike Bacsik, Chris Booker, Winston Abreu, Arnie Munoz and Jason Simontacchi to the minor leagues, removing them from the 40-man roster. Outfielder Brandon Watson was also outrighted to the minor leagues Wednesday.

(1/19/2007) D'Angelo Jimenez was among 12 Nationals who agreed to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training. Jimenez hasn't appeared in more than 35 games in a season since 2004. He hit a combined .211 in short stints with Texas and Oakland last season. The other players agreeing to minor league deals were: right-handers Jesus Colome and Anastacio Martinez; left-handers Luis Martinez and Arnie Munoz; outfielders George Lombard and Abraham Nunez; and infielders Melvin Dorta, Jose Macias and Jorge Toca.

(6/15/2004) White Sox left-hander Arnie Munoz, currently with Double-A Birmingham, allowed one run on six hits and one walk in seven innings in his start Monday. He struck out nine batters to move to 7-2 on the season. Munoz now has a 2.05 ERA and 0.991 WHIP in 13 starts.

(2/19/2003) Munoz might win a job in Chicago's bullpen this spring, according to the Arlington Heights Daily Herald. "He's got a big curve," said Felix Fermin, his manager with Aguilas of the Dominican Winter League. "If you remember Mark Davis from San Diego, that's the kind of break he gets."
