(3/24/2014) Injured Marlins players Derek Dietrich (nose), Greg Dobbs (quadriceps) and Marcell Ozuna (leg) are all progressing, per MLB.com.

Dietrich and Dobbs will both play the field during a minor-league game Monday. Ozuna, who left Sunday's game with a leg cramp, is feeling better and will do some baseball activities Monday. He could be back in the spring lineup Tuesday.

(3/17/2014) Marlins infielder Greg Dobbs is sidelined with injuries to his quadriceps and lower back, according to The Palm Beach Post. Manager Mike Redmond said Dobbs will be sidelined for the next three days, but he's hopeful Dobbs will play in minor-league games later this week.

Dobbs is batting .260 (13 for 50) with one home run, two doubles, six runs and six RBI in his last 15 games (14 starts).

(4/30/2013) Marlins infielder Greg Dobbs started his second straight game at first base Monday against the Mets and will likely continue to see more starts after Joe Mahoney (hamstring) was placed on the disabled list. Dobbs finished 2 for 6 with one run, one double and one walk during Monday's 15-inning win.

It was Dobbs' fifth multi-hit game this season. He's batting .240 (18 for 75) through 24 appearances. He has one home run, three doubles and seven RBI.

(4/4/2013) The Marlins announced Thursday first baseman Casey Kotchman, who suffered a strained left hamstring Wednesday, will be placed on the disabled list Friday.

Greg Dobbs, who started in Kotchman's place Thursday at Washington, will see most of the starts at first base in Kotchman's absence, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Dobbs entered play Thursday without a hit in two pinch-hit appearances. However, he hit .279 in 254 games for Miami from 2011-12. Unfortunately, he slugged .388 in that span.

(1/14/2013) With Marlins first baseman Logan Morrison questionable for the start of the season because of his knee injury, MLB.com suggests the three top internal candidates to replace Morrison are Greg Dobbs, Joe Mahoney and Kyle Jensen. All three players are on the 40-man roster and MLB.com depth charts list Mahoney as the backup to Morrison.
