The Phillies cleared four spots on the 40-man roster Thursday, outrighting infielders Michael Martinez and Pete Orr as well as pitchers Zach Miner and Mauricio Robles.
Martinez went 7 for 40 with the Phillies this season and has hit .187/.234/.261 with five home runs and 34 RBI in 364 at-bats over his three-year career. Orr went 4 for 20 this season, giving him a .247/.293/.306 line with no home runs, 11 RBI and six stolen bases in 170 at-bats over three seasons with the Phillies.
Miner made 16 relief appearances for the Phillies this season, posting a 4.40 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 20:17 K:BB ratio in 28 2/3 innings. Robles allowed one earned run in 4 2/3 innings over three appearances with the Phillies while posting a 1.97 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 63:44 K:BB ratio in 64 innings over two minor-league levels in 2013.
