Twins outright Yohan Pino, Doug Bernier to Triple-A

(10/13/2014) The Twins have sent pitcher Yohan Pino and infielder Doug Bernier outright to Triple-A Rochester, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Bernier elected free agency, and Pino is expected to become a free agent as well. Pino made his major-league debut in 2014 and finished the season with a 5.07 ERA and 50:14 K:BB ratio in 60 1/3 innings over 11 starts. Bernier was just 2 for 7 with the Twins in 2014.

(3/24/2014) The Twins made several roster moves Monday, which included releasing veteran reliever Matt Guerrier. The Twins also optioned pitcher Ryan Pressly, pitcher Michael Tonkin and catcher Chris Herrmann to Triple-A Rochester. 

Lastly, the Twins reassigned six players to minor-league camp. They were Matt HoffmanAaron ThomsponDeolis Guerra, Wilkin RamirezDoug Bernier and Deibinson Romero.

Bernier was "very happy about it."

The 33-year-old infielder saw 53 at-bats with Minnesota this season and hit .226 with his first five career RBI.

Doug Bernier to have minor procedure

(9/29/2013) The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Twins infielder Doug Bernier will have arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Monday. He is having the minor procedure done to have bone chips removed.

An MRI done earlier this month revealed inflammation in the elbow. Bernier was limited to 10 plate appearances in September, and he was 12 for 53 (.226) this season.

(9/8/2013) Twins infielder Doug Bernier underwent an MRI on his right elbow Saturday, which revealed a minor inflammation, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

"It's just a little sore," Bernier said. "I've never had any issues (in the past), so this is just about listening to my body and keeping it warm before games and icing it after."

Bernier, 33, has a .295/.370/.407 line for Rochester in 92 games. He has only two career major league games, both coming in 2008 for Colorado. He went 0 for 4.

(7/14/2013) The Twins selected of the contract of infielder Doug Bernier from Triple-A Rochester Sunday. Bernier is making his first stint with the Twins after batting .295 in 92 games for Rochester.

Bernier hasn't appeared in the majors since playing in two games for the Rockies in 2008.
