(3/27/2014) The Indians have sent four players to minor-league camp Thursday.

The most prominent names in the bunch include pitchers Shaun Marcum and Matt Capps . Both players are clearly in their decline phase, but have been relevant in the majors in the past. The team also sent catchers Matt Treanor and Luke Carlin down.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(3/21/2014) Indians backup catcher Matt Treanor will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury.

His absence into the regular season could play a significant role in how the opening day roster shakes out. It could force Carlos Santana, who is in the mix to be the starting third baseman, to serve as the second-string catcher and ensure that third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall sticks.
