Padres make six camp cuts Monday

(3/24/2014) The Padres optioned infielder Ryan Jackson and outfielder Alex Castellanos to Triple-A El Paso Monday, while also reassigning outfielder Alex Dickerson and pitchers Tony Sipp, Kevin Quackenbush and Blaine Boyer to minor-league camp.

(3/23/2014) Padres pitcher Blaine Boyer made his second appearance since he was hit on the foot by a line drive last week. He allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out two over 1 2/3 innings of work against the Rangers.

Boyer has allowed four runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings since sustaining the injury. He's posted a 5.91 ERA over 10 2/3 innings this spring.

Blaine Boyer awaiting MRI results Monday

(3/17/2014) Padres pitcher Blaine Boyer is awaiting the results of an MRI on his injured foot, MLB.com reports.

Boyer sustained the injury when he was hit on the foot by a line drive Sunday. He had tossed seven scoreless innings this spring before giving up three runs in the 10th inning Sunday.


Padres sign Blaine Boyer to minor-league deal

(1/10/2014) The Padres have signed pitcher Blaine Boyer to a minor-league deal, the New York Post reports. He will earn $700,000 if he plays in the majors this season, which he hasn't done since 2011 with the Mets.

Boyer posted a 3.00 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 15 innings with Triple-A Omaha last season.

(5/17/2013) The Royals have released pitcher Blaine Boyer , the club announced Friday.

Boyer, 31, owned a 3.00 ERA in 15 innings at Triple-A Omaha, but the club declined to call him up. Boyer exercised an out clause in his contract and will become a free agent.


Royals make several roster moves

(3/18/2013) The Kansas City Royals made several roster moves on Monday prior to the Cactus League game against the Rangers. The Royals reassigned pitchers Blaine Boyer, Michael Mariot, Brian Sanches and Yordano Ventura to minor-league camp.

Optioned to Triple-A Omaha were pitchers Everett Teaford, Will Smith and Nate Adcock.

Teaford, Smith and Adcock have all seen time in the majors and could come up for the Royals at some point this season.
