(4/6/2013) The Blue Jays selected the contract of pitcher Dave Bush Saturday from Triple-A Buffalo. Bush had been cut from the spring training roster.

Manager John Gibbons said the Blue Jays need someone to "eat some innings," reports the National Post

Bush last pitched in the majors with the Rangers in 2011 and was 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA over 17 appearances and three starts.

(3/24/2013) Blue Jays starter Dave Bush took the mound in a Grapefruit League start against Minnesota Sunday. It did not go well for the non-roster invitee.

Bush allowed six earned runs on six hits and a walk over just two innings before being removed in favor of Jeremy Jeffress. Bush surrendered a three-run home run to Joe Mauer in the first inning and a two-run shot to Brian Dozier in the second.

Bush, 33, has allowed nine earned runs this spring over 13 innings and is not likely to break camp with the team.

(2/23/2013) Toronto starting candidate Dave Bush earned the win on Saturday in his Grapefruit League debut against Detroit. Bush pitched two innings and was the only pitcher to go more than one for the Blue Jays Saturday. He gave up a walk and struck out a batter as he did not allow a hit or run.
