The results haven’t been what he wanted, but he’s actually looked a lot better."

Nate Schierholtz comes up big amid trade rumors

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/25/2013) Cubs outfielder Nate Schierholtz had a career-high five RBI, which included the go-ahead double in the 12th inning during Wednesday's 7-6 win at Arizona. Schierholtz finished 3 for 6 with a home run.

"For Nate, that was kind of back to the way he was before he got beat up a little bit," Cubs manager Dale Sveum said, per ESPN. "He had a huge game and he missed another home run to left."

Wednesday was Schierholtz's first multi-hit game in July. He is batting .233 (10 for 43) this month, but that hasn't stopped teams from inquiring about the 29-year-old outfielder. According to sources, the Pirates have scouted Schierholtz. There were 10 scouts in attendance during Wednesday's game scouting numerous Cubs' players.

"That's out of our control," said Schierholtz, responding to a question about possibly being traded. "It happens, but I love being a Cub. I hope to stay here, but you never know what will happen in the next week. All we can do is go out there and focus on trying to win games."
