(8/10/2006) The Diamondbacks added RHP Livan Hernandez to the 25-man roster and optioned RHP Jeff Bajenaru to Triple-A Tucson of the PCL.
Bajenaru called up by D-Backs
(8/6/2006) The D-Backs recalled reliever Jeff Bajenaru and infielder Alberto Callaspo from their top farm club. Bajenaru was 4-2 with a 4.48 ERA with Tucson. Callaspo, 23, was fourth in the Pacific Coast League in hitting at .336 with 12 triples, five homers and 61 RBI. Bajenaru was acquired from the Chicago White Sox for Alex Cintron during spring training. Callaspo came from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for right-hander Jason Bulger.

(3/15/2006) MLB.com reports that manager Bob Melvin likes what he's seen from Jeff Bajenaru, the pitcher Arizona got from the White Sox for Alex Cintron. He's made two appearances for the D-Backs. "If you're watching [Monday] night, this is a guy who gets what we're really trying to accomplish here and that's pound the bottom of the [strike] zone," Melvin said. "That's not mid-thigh, that means knee to the bottom of the knee and he's got that down. His sights are always at the knee to the bottom of the knee on all his pitches. In a matter of fact, sometimes he's got a little more difficult time elevating than he does getting the ball down."
Bajenaru traded to Diamondbacks
(3/8/2006) Infielder Alex Cintron was acquired by the White Sox from the Diamondbacks for pitcher Jeff Bajenaru. A switch hitter, Cintron batted .273 with 19 doubles, eight home runs and 48 RBIs in 122 games for the Diamondbacks last season, when he played second, third and shortstop. His three pinch-hit home runs tied for the NL lead. A .279 hitter in five seasons, the 27-year-old Cintron is playing for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic.
