(4/23/2008) The New York Daily News reports that the Mets have signed LHP Eude Brito to a minor-league contract. Brito, who made 11 appearances (seven starts) for the Phillies from 2005-06, was assigned to Double-A Binghamton.

(2/24/2007) Phillies LHP Eude Brito has been unable to pitch early in spring training because of soreness in his neck and back after getting into a car accident Dec. 21 in his native Dominican Republic. Brito had to wear a neck brace for nearly a month after the accident, in which he swerved to avoid a motorcycle but wound up hitting a tree.

(9/2/2006) Scott Mathieson left Saturday's game at Philadelphia with a strained right elbow following one pitch to the second batter he faced. Eude Brito (1-2) allowed two runs and four hits in four innings of relief after Mathieson came out. Brito surrendered a two-run homer to Chipper Jones in the first inning, but settled down.

(6/27/2006) Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Brett Myers will take a leave of absence from the team through the All-Star break to focus on personal matters following his arrest on assault charges against his wife. Myers was arrested Friday and charged with hitting his wife in the face on a street not far from Fenway Park where the Phillies played the Red Sox. He was freed after his wife posted $200 bail and faces a court date of Aug. 4.

(6/14/2006) The Phillies still haven't decided who will pitch Saturday against Tampa Bay. Eude Brito was 0-2 with a 10.38 ERA in two starts filling in for the injured Jon Lieber. Manager Charlie Manuel said he has two or three candidates, including reliever Ryan Franklin, who was a starter in the AL. Gavin Floyd, who began the season in the rotation, has pitched well in both of his starts at Triple-A and is another possibility.

He pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowed five hits, four runs and had three walks, two strikeouts, two wild pitches, one balk and one hit batter. Brito has a 10.38 ERA since taking the spot in the in rotation vacated when Jon Lieber went down with a groin injury, and manager Charlie Manuel said before the game that Brito "needs to show something" to make a case to stay in the rotation.

(6/3/2006) Eude Brito (0-1) was charged with six runs and nine hits over four innings on Saturday at the Dodgers and did not strike out a batter in his sixth major league start and first since Sept. 24.
