Vitters among Cubs early cuts


(3/18/2010) Seven Cubs non-roster invitees have been assigned to minor league camp: right-handed pitcher Jeff Kennard, left-handed pitcher Vince Perkins, catchers Steve Clevenger and Blake Lalli, infielders Matt Camp and Josh Vitters and outfielder Brett Jackson.

(3/10/2009) Brewers RP Vince Perkins got the start for Team Canada on Monday against the Italians as Canada was ousted from contention. Perkins was roughed up for three hits and two runs over two innings. He walked four and had two K's.

(3/9/2007) MLB.com reports that the Brewers sent pitchers Luis Pena and Vince Perkins to their minor league camp, while optioning Mike Jones to Double-A Huntsville and Marino Salas to Triple-A Nashville.

Perkins named to Canadian roster


(2/23/2006) MLB.com reports Vince Perkins has been named to Canada's preliminary 30-man roster for the World Baseball Classic. The Canadian team will meet on March 2 for a short training period before taking on South Africa in its WBC opener on March 7 in Arizona.
