(1/12/2010) The Pirates agreed to minor league contracts with right-hander Brian Bass, catcher Luke Carlin and outfielder-first baseman Brian Myrow with invitations to spring training. Bass, 28, was 5-3 with a 4.90 ERA while pitching 86 1/3 innings for Baltimore last season, the second most among AL relievers. Carlin played in 10 games with Arizona last season and 36 games with San Diego in 2008.

White Sox sends players down
(3/11/2009) Before Wednesday's game against the Brewers, the White Sox reassigned infielders Sergio Santos and Brian Myrow and pitcher Brad Salmon to minor league camp. They also optioned pitcher Lucas Harrell to Double-A Birmingham.
Poreda, Beckham among spring invitees
(1/12/2009) Left-hander Aaron Poreda and infielder Gordon Beckham, drafted in the first round by the White Sox the past two years, were among 18 players invited Monday to spring training. The White Sox agreed to terms with 13 players on minor league deals and invited them to their new complex in Glendale, Ariz., beginning Feb. 15. They also invited five players from the minors, including Poreda and Beckham. Poreda was the team's top choice in 2007 out of San Francisco and Beckham a first-rounder in 2008 out of Georgia. Receiving non-roster invitations were infielders Javier Castillo, Brian Myrow, Sergio J. Santos and Eider Torres; catchers Corky Miller and Chris Stewart; outfielders Josh Kroeger and Michael Restovich; right-handers Ryan Z. Braun, Franklyn German, Brad Salmon and John Van Benschoten; and left-hander pitcher Randy Williams. Catchers Tyler Flowers and Donny Lucy and right-handed reliever Mike MacDougal were invited from the minor league system.
Myrow optioned back to the minors
(8/23/2008) The Padres optioned INF Brian Myrow to the minors Friday to make room for RHP Dirk Hayhurst, who the team plans to call up from Triple-A Portland and start Saturday. Hayhurst, who was 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA for Portland, will fill the hole in San Diego's rotation left when Greg Maddux was traded to the Dodgers.
Myrow homers after recall
(7/9/2008) The San Diego Padres had a decidedly Triple-A look on Tuesday night. The Padres brought up three more players from Portland, giving them five in the starting lineup who played for the Beavers at some point this season. The Padres purchased the contract of outfielder Chip Ambres and recalled infielder Brian Myrow and left-handed pitcher Joe Thatcher from the Beavers. "It's not a shakeup or a change to make change," manager Bud Black said. "These are moves to help the team." The Padres outrighted outfielder Paul McAnulty and right-handed pitcher Carlos Guevara to Portland. They also placed right-hander Brett Tomko on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow, retroactive to July 1.
(9/1/2007) Catcher Michael Barrett was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday by the San Diego Padres. The Padres also made two September callups, purchasing the contracts of infielder Brian Myrow and outfielder Brady Clark from Triple-A Portland.

(3/15/2007) MLB.com reports the Padres optioned LHP Ryan Ketchner, SS Luis Cruz and 2B Craig Stansberry to Triple-A Portland. They also reassigned RHP Steve Watkins and 1B Brian Myrow to Minor League camp and gave RHP Mike Adams his unconditional release.
