Orioles sign lefty pitchers Dana Eveland, Andy Oliver

(7/17/2015) The Orioles have signed a pair of left-handed pitchers in Dana Eveland and Andy Oliver on Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Eveland was last with the Braves organization this season. Atlanta designated him for assignment at the start of July. He had a 5.40 ERA in 3 1/3 innings with the Braves this season.

Oliver was granted his release by the Rays in early July after opting out of his contract with their Triple-A club. In 9 2/3 innings this season, Oliver posted a 6.52 ERA with eight walks and just five strikeouts.

Eveland and Oliver will join the bullpen for Triple-A Norfolk.

Masset allowed three runs without recoding an out in Sunday's loss to the Phillies. Meanwhile, Eveland had a 5.40 ERA over 3 1/3 innings.

(6/11/2015) The Braves purchased the contract of reliever Dana Eveland from Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday. 

The left-handed reliever has spent the entire 2015 season in the minors. He went 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA with Triple-A Pawtucket before throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings for Gwinnett.

Eveland was released by Boston last week. He had been 2-0, with a 1.54 ERA at Triple-A Pawtucket. 


Red Sox send Rusney Castillo, Jackie Bradley Jr. to Triple-A

(4/2/2015) The Red Sox announced several roster moves on Thursday, per the Boston Globe. The team optioned outfielders Rusney Castillo and Jackie Bradley Jr. to Triple-A, and reassigned Matt SpringHumberto Quintero and Dana Eveland to minor-league camp.

Bradley and Castillo are expected to see work at right and center field in the minors, while Shane Victorino starts at right field in the majors.

"Both he and Jackie were difficult decisions. Both guys had great springs... Rusney did everything we asked of him," Farrell said, per the Boston Herald. "He's going to play both right and center in Pawtucket. The everyday at-bats are part of that, so is the depth and overall roster."

Castillo hit .310/.310/.621 with one double, one triple, two home runs and five RBI this spring. Bradley slashed .378.462/.444 with three doubles and one RBI in Grapefruit League play.


Report: Red Sox to sign Dana Eveland to minor-league contract

The left-handed Eveland went 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA in 27 1/3 innings for the Mets in 2014.


Mets outright four to Triple-A Friday

Scott Rice , Josh Satin, Buddy Carlyle and Dana Eveland all accepted their assignments and will report to Triple-A. All four players could have declined the offer and become free agents, but opted to remain with the club. 


Dana Eveland done for season

(9/14/2014) Mets left-hander Dana Eveland, who has pitched only once in September because of inflammation in his elbow, has been ruled out for the season, according to MLB.com. Eveland's elbow is structurally sound. He received a cortisone shot in late August.

"[The elbow is] feeling better every day," Eveland said. "I hate to leave here, because I do feel like, you know, maybe in another week or so I'd probably be able to pitch again."

Eveland had a 2.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 8.9 strikeouts per nine innings in 30 appearances for the Mets.

(8/9/2014) Mets pitcher Dana Eveland picked up a win in relief Saturday, striking out one in a 1-2-3 10th inning in his team's 2-1, 11-inning win over the Phillies.

Eveland (1-1) needed just 11 pitches to retire the side in the 10th inning and eventually notch his first win of the season. He had given up two runs while failing to record an out the previous night. Eveland owns a 2.86 ERA and 20:5 K:BB ratio in 22 innings.


Dana Eveland's X-ray comes back clean

(7/28/2014) Mets pitcher Dana Eveland's X-ray came back clean, according to ESPN.

Eveland took a line drive off his throwing elbow in the ninth inning and had to depart the game. He received an X-ray following the game, but it came back clean. It's unclear if Eveland will need a few days before he's ready to return to action.

(6/4/2014) Mets pitcher Dana Eveland took a loss in his second appearance of the season Wednesday, giving up one earned run on two hits and one walk in one-third of an inning in his team's 5-4 defeat against the Cubs.

Eveland (0-1) entered the game with two men on base and gave up back-to-back singles to tie the game at 4-4. After coaxing a groundout, he walked a batter to re-load the bases before being pulled. One more run would come home in the inning and get charged to him. Eveland has given up the sole earned run in one inning over his two appearances.

The Mets bullpen is running on fumes after two consecutive 14-inning games against the Phillies, so Eveland should come prepared to throw multiple innings Sunday. He is 4-1 with a 3.91 ERA and 58:12 K:BB ratio in 46 innings with Las Vegas.

(2/18/2014) The Mets have signed pitchers Buddy Carlyle and Dana Eveland to minor-league deals, according to Mets Farm Report.

The 35-year-old Carlyle spent last season in the Braves minor-league system. He posted a 3.86 ERA in 56 innings. Eveland pitched in Korea last season. He saw time in the majors with Baltimore in 2012. Eveland posted a 4.73 ERA in 32 1/3 innings.
