He's a great player. And I can see why he would want to keep him around. James Jurries focused on future
(3/3/2006) MLB.com reports that Braves prospect James Jurries, who is competing for a bench spot this year, is not letting his past bother him. Last year he was suspended for a positive steroids test that he has 'fessed up to. Now he is focused on making the team. "I'm not thinking that I have a job right now," Jurries said. "It's one of those things that I'm going to have to earn, and there's a handful of guys fighting for it."
Jurries to make the majors?
(2/24/2006) MLB.com reports that Braves prospect Scott Thorman is behind in the race to back up 1B Adam LaRoche this spring, with fellow prospect James Jurries leading the pack at this point. Part of the reason for it could be because Thorman is a lefty, as is LaRoche, while Jurries is a righty.
