(11/30/2008) The Rangers have traded RP Wes Littleton to the Red Sox for a player or players to be named and cash. The Rangers, who announced the trade Friday, designated the right-hander for assignment on Nov. 20. He pitched out of the bullpen in 12 games last season after making a combined 68 appearances the two previous seasons. He was 0-0 with a 6.00 ERA in 2008.

Rangers pitching staff gets makeover


(7/11/2008) The revolving door for the Texas Rangers pitching staff took another spin on Friday when the club sent Scott Feldman and Wes Littleton to the minors and called up Kameron Loe and Joselo Diaz from their farm system. Diaz will be the 26th pitcher used by the Rangers this season when he makes his debut with Texas. The Rangers entered Friday night with a team ERA of 5.04, highest in the AL and second highest in the majors. Littleton was sent back to Triple-A Oklahoma after being called up from that club on Wednesday. Feldman was optioned to Double-A Frisco. Both pitched in Thursday night's 11-10, 11-inning defeat to the Los Angeles Angels. Feldman was not scheduled to pitch again until after the All-Star break, and Littleton would not have been available for the opener of a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox after throwing 55 pitches on Thursday night. "I needed some arms," Rangers manager Ron Washington said.

To make roster room for them, the Rangers put lefty Kason Gabbard on the 15-day disabled list with a stiff back and optioned right-hander Wes Littleton to Oklahoma.

(3/29/2008) Right-hander Dustin Nippert, acquired in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks, claimed the final bullpen spot that Robinson Tejeda and Wes Littleton had been pursuing after splitting time in the majors last season. Each of them threw an inning of scoreless relief in Friday's exhibition game against the White Sox, but the trade for Nippert had already been announced and the decision had been made.

Daniels and manager Ron Washington are deciding between Wes Littleton and Robinson Tejeda for the final bullpen slot. (8/29/2007) Wes Littleton worked out of a bases-loaded, nobody-out jam in the eighth inning of Tuesday's game against the White Sox, and Marlon Byrd hit a tiebreaking single in bottom of the inning to send the Rangers to a 4-3 victory over the White Sox for Texas' third straight win on Tuesday night. "He stood up like a man," manager Ron Washington said. "He got us two ground balls to get out of the inning. He kept his composure. He made pitches when he had to with his sinker. He did exactly what you're supposed to do. He didn't panic."

(8/22/2007) Wes Littleton earned his second career save and first this season by pitching three scoreless innings during Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday against the Orioles. He allowed two hits and one walk, while striking out one.
