Adduci, who was activated off the disabled list Monday, is batting .250 in 28 at-bats this season. But he is just 1 for 15 since returning.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7/19/2014) Rangers outfielder Jim Adduci could return from the disabled list at the conclusion of a weekend series in Toronto, reports MLB.com.

Adduci has been out since breaking his left pinkie finger in April, but has appeared in two games on his rehab assignment entering Saturday. He could see a healthy amount of playing time when he returns, given the number of players sidelined for the Rangers.

"I think a good chance in New York [for a four-game set against the Yankees] after the weekend," general manager Jon Daniels said. "Kind of get him an extended run of at-bats. He has swung the bat well."

Adduci was hitting .462/.462/.615 in nine games prior to suffering the injury.

Jim Adduci in, Mitch Moreland out of Friday lineup

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(4/18/2014) The absence of Mitch Moreland in the lineup Friday against the White Sox in favor of Jim Adduci is the result of Ron Washington simply yearning to give the latter his first start of the season for the Rangers rather than dissatisfaction with the former

"His at-bats have been excellent," Washington told the Dallas Morning News about Moreland. "I've been putting getting Adduci in there and I need to do it."

Moreland has reached base five times in the last two games and is batting .279 on the season.
