Travis Hanson cut Monday


(3/12/2007) OF Colby Rasmus, the Cardinals' first-round pick in 2005 and the heir apparent to Jim Edmonds in center field, was among six players reassigned to the minor league camp. The rest of the group included LHP Troy Cate and RHP Mike Smith, INFs Brendan Ryan and Travis Hanson and OF Coey Haerther.

3B Hanson gets sent down


(3/16/2006) Non-roster RHPs Blaine Neal and John Webb were returned to the minor league complex. Promising 3B Travis Hanson, who had lost 12 pounds due to a recent illness, also was returned to the minors.

La Russa likes INF Hanson


(3/6/2006) Cardinals prospect Travis Hanson, who overcame three errors to hit a solo home run recently in spring training play, is apparently a favorite of manager Tony La Russa. The veteran dugout boss told Hanson, "You're a good player and you're going to be a real good player."

Cards give 3B Hanson year deal


(2/17/2006) The Cardinals agreed to terms with LHP Carmen Cali, LHP Randy Flores, LHP Tyler Johnson, RHP Juan Mateo, LHP Chris Narveson, RHP Adam Wainwright, 1B-OF Chris Duncan, OF John Gall, OF Reid Gorecki, 3B Travis Hanson, INF Brendon Ryan and OF Skip Schumaker on one-year contracts.
