Ryan Roberts slugs third home run

by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com
(5/17/2013) Rays second baseman Ryan Roberts hit his third home run in Thursday's loss against Boston.

The solo home run was Roberts's only hit of the game. His batting line is up to .253/.311/.400, which, as unimpressive as it looks, is right around the second base average of .261/.320/.394. Expect Roberts to keep seeing at-bats against left-handed pitching for now.

Ryan Roberts records two hits

(5/15/2013) Rays second baseman Ryan Roberts recorded two hits on Wednesday during a drubbing at the hands of the Boston Red Sox. Roberts scored one of the two runs the Rays put up during a 9-2 loss.

Roberts went 2 for 3 with a run scored and is batting .250. He's seen 92 at-bats and has two homers, 10 RBI and nine runs. He has struck out 21 times.

Ryan Roberts drives in two

by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com
(5/5/2013) After batting .103 (3 for 29) in his previous eight games, Rays infielder Ryan Roberts showed some life at the plate in Sunday's series finale against the Rockies. He went 2 for 4 with two RBI in the 8-3 loss.

The 32-year-old singled in the fourth inning before knocking in two with a double in the sixth.

Roberts is batting .236 with two homers and seven RBI.

No need to look at Ryan Roberts

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4/27/2013) With the exception of a glorious two-homer day against CC Sabathia, Rays second baseman Ryan Roberts has been a non-entity this season. Despite a .241 batting average and only four extra-base hits in 54 at-bats, Roberts has remained on our most-viewed players list in recent days.

Roberts' two home run game was Monday, so Fantasy owners are probably seeing him pop up as one of the top contributors over the last seven days. Unfortunately, he is 1 for 15 in four games since the home runs, so there is little reason to pick the veteran up.

Roberts had 19 home runs in 2011, but that is looking like an outlier in his career as he has just 24 home runs in 1,000 plate appearances otherwise. Fantasy owners should probably pay him no mind outside of AL-only formats.

Ryan Roberts takes CC Sabathia deep twice

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(4/22/2013) Rays second baseman Ryan Roberts entered Monday's game against CC Sabathia and the Yankees having gone 0 for 3 in his career against the ace of the New York staff. He was 3 for 6 by night's end in the Rays' win.

Roberts went 3 for 4 in the game and 3 for 3 off Sabathia with two home runs. He took the starter deep for a solo shot in the first inning and added another solo blast in the third. The 3-for-4 effort brings Roberts' average up to .308.

The 32-year-old, who was batting just .233 after a game against Oakland on April 20, has gone 5 for 9 in his last two contests with three RBI and four runs scored.

Ryan Roberts with two-game streak

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(4/3/2013) Rays second baseman Ryan Roberts made his first start Wednesday night in the season's second game against the Baltimore Orioles. Roberts went 1 for 2 in the game with a single and is now batting .500 after he went 1 for 2 in the opener. He entered that game as a pinch-hitter and was pinch-hit for Wednesday.

Roberts, Rays agree to deal

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(1/18/2013) CBSSports.com Senior Columnist Danny Knobler reported on Friday that infielder Ryan Roberts has agreed to a one-year, $2.95 million deal with the Rays, avoiding arbitration. The deal also includes performance bonuses, according to Knobler.
