(6/15/2010) The Atlanta Braves signed free agent OF Josh Anderson to a minor-league contract, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was assigned to Triple-A Gwinnett. Anderson was released from a minor-league deal with the Brewers last week.

(7/30/2009) The Royals have acquired outfielder Josh Anderson from the Tigers for cash. The trade was announced Thursday before Kansas City played the finale of a four-game series against the Orioles. He was designated for assignment by the Tigers on July 24 when Carlos Guillen was activated from the DL. Anderson is expected to join the Royals on Friday in Tampa.

(5/18/2009) From the The Sports Xchange: LF Josh Anderson got a rare start Sunday as part of manager Jim Leyland's plan to pack his lineup with left-handed hitters. Anderson's playing time has been squeezed by OF Clete Thomas, who has become a regular in either left or right, and hot-hitting 1B/3B/DH Jeff Larish, who provide the club with needed power. Anderson batted second Sunday and grounded into a force out swinging at the first pitch after CF Curtis Granderson opened the first with a walk. Apparently he learned from that because his second time up he waited until he got deep in the count and tripled home two runs during a four-run second inning.

(5/5/2009) The Tigers placed outfielder Carlos Guillen on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with shoulder and Achilles' tendon injuries and optioned left-handed pitcher Clay Rapada to Triple-A Toledo. Detroit filled the roster spots by recalling first baseman Jeff Larish and outfielder Clete Thomas from Toledo.
