(4/16/2008) The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Marlins RP Harvey Garcia had rotator cuff surgery in New York on Tuesday. Garcia won't throw for 3-4 months and is out for the season.

(4/7/2008) The Marlins moved right-hander Harvey Garcia to the 60-day disabled list Monday. He went on the 15-day DL last month, retroactive to March 21.

(3/24/2008) The Marlins placed RHP Sergio Mitre (strained right forearm -- out 4-6 weeks), RHP Harvey Garcia (right shoulder tendinitis), RHP Henry Owens (recovery from right shoulder surgery), RHP Anibal Sanchez (recovery from right shoulder surgery) and RHP Josh Johnson (recovery from right elbow surgery) on the 15-day DL on Monday.

(3/18/2007) The Marlins reassigned LHP Chris George, RHP Eddie Rodriguez, 3B Scott Seabol to minor-league camp; Also, they optioned RHP Jesus Delgado, RHP Harvey Garcia, RHP Scott Tyler to Double-A Carolina and outrighted 1B Jason Stokes to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Nolasco gets look as closer
(2/7/2007) Barring a trade for Armando Benitez in spring training, the Marlins are ready to choose their next closer from the quartet of Taylor Tankersley, Ricky Nolasco, Henry Owens and Matt Lindstrom. The two latter options were acquired from the Mets this winter. "We think we have a closer in camp," GM Larry Beinfest told the Miami Herald. "I'm not sure that he's been a closer, or he knows who he is. But we think we have a closer in our camp, and in the next six weeks I think somebody will step up." Renyel Pinto, Jose Garcia, Randy Messenger, Jesus Delgado or Harvey Garcia were not mentioned as first options, but they all could be in the bullpen mix, too. Sergio Mitre would be the likely favorite as the No. 5 starter if Nolasco does serve as the closer. Yusmeiro Petit is also an option.

(3/16/2006) RHP Harvey Garcia was among seven pitchers cut from camp Wednesday. He was optioned to Class A Jupiter with RHPs Jesus Delgado and Jose Garcia. RHP Anibal Sanchez, RHP Scott Tyler and LHP Adam Bostick were optioned to Double-A Carolina. LHP Reynel Pinto was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Garcia added to deal to Marlins
(11/25/2005) The Marlins and Red Sox completed the trade that sent ace Josh Beckett and third baseman Mike Lowell to Boston on Thursday night, but not before reliever Guillermo Mota was added to a deal for top shortstop prospect Hanley Ramirez, plus minor-league pitchers Anibal Sanchez, Jesus Delgado and Harvey Garcia.
