Harben outrighted to Triple-A


(9/25/2008) The Cubs sent RHP Adam Harben outright to Triple-A Iowa. He had been designated for assignment Sept. 22.

(9/22/2008) The Cubs claimed OF Brad Snyder off waivers from Cleveland. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Cubs designated RHP Adam Harben for assignment Monday. They have 10 days to trade, release or outright him to the minor leagues.

(11/5/2007) The Cubs selected the contract right-handed pitching prospect Adam Harben, who went 0-1 with a 1.80 ERA in three rehabilitation outings with Rookie League Mesa while recovering from an injured right elbow. He is now on the 40-man roster.

They also reassigned P Jason Anderson, Sean Gallagher, Adam Harben, John Webb and Randy Wells, IF Mike Kinkade and Eric Patterson, OF Tyler Colvin and Chris Walker to minor league camp.

(3/15/2006) Denard Span, the 20th overall pick in the 2002 draft, was among 10 players sent to the minor league side of camp Tuesday. In his first big-league spring training, Span hit .250 in 12 at-bats with a double and four walks over 11 games. Also sent out of major league camp was Pat Neshek, Alex Romero, Tommy Watkins, Kevin West, Adam Harben, Justin Jones, Jose Mijares and Kyle Phillips.

Twins give Harben one-year deal


(2/26/2006) The Twins agreed to terms with RHP Boof Bonser, RHP J.D. Durbin, RHP Willie Eyre, RHP Adam Harben, LHP Jose Mijares, C Rob Bowen, 1B Garrett Jones, OF Jason Pridie and OF Alex Romero on one-year contracts. MLB.com reports there has been no mention of J.D. Durbin as a possible fifth starter in Minnesota. Francisco Liriano and Scott Baker are the favorites for that role. "My name may not come up, but I'm still in there," Durbin said. "Even if not for the starting job, then for the bullpen."
