Jose Gil released by Baltimore

(6/4/2013) The Orioles released catcher Jose Gil from the organization Tuesday after officially adding Jon Rauch to the roster at Triple-A Norfolk, MLB.com reports. 

Gil has played in three games this season between Double-A Bowie and Norfolk and has gone 2 for 9 with an RBI and four strikeouts combined.

(3/14/2013) The Orioles have reassigned catcher Jose Gil and infielder Niuman Romero to minor-league camp. The club currently has 51 players left at spring training. The team needs to get down to a 25-man roster by the beginning of the year.
