by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(3/10/2013) The Brewers released oft-injured pitcher Kelvim Escobar on Sunday after the veteran right-hander was diagnosed with a nerve issue in his right hand last week. Escobar was attempting to crack a major-league roster for the first time since the 2009 season as a member of the Angels.

Escobar has nerve issue

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(3/5/2013) Milwaukee pitcher Kelvim Escobar was diagnosed on Tuesday with a pinched nerve in his right hand, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He had been forced from his last appearance on Sunday with a hand injury. "He thinks it's the nerve that goes from the elbow down your forearm to the hand," Escobar said. "He thinks maybe it's inflamed or not firing enough to the hand, and that's why it stops working."

Escobar suffers another setback

(3/3/2013) Brewers pitcher Kelvim Escobar made his Cactus League debut on Sunday against the Cubs but did not last long. He faced just five batters before having to depart with a hand injury. "He didn't feel good strength in his hand, and the ball was coming out funny," manager Ron Roenicke told MLB.com. "No elbow, no shoulder. He said it was hand."

(2/21/2013) Milwaukee pitcher Kelvim Escobar, who hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2009, officially launched his comeback attempt Thursday after completing a 35-pitch bullpen session. Escobar, who is searching for a spot in the team's bullpen, declared his session a success, according to MLB.com. He is expected to throw one more bullpen session before facing hitters.

Escobar signs with Brewers

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(1/10/2013) Kelvim Escobar, who hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2009 -- when he had a 3.60 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in one start with the Angels -- announced on Twitter Thursday that he had agreed to a one-year deal with the Brewers. The news was brought to wide attention by Juan Dominguez of ProRumors.com. MLB.com's Adam McCalvy later confirmed that Escobar had signed a minor league deal and got an invite to Spring Training.
