Darren Oliver wants to go out starting

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(9/28/2013) Blue Jays pitcher Darren Oliver would like to make one final start for his career on Sunday against Tampa Bay, Sportsnet.ca reports. The 42-year-old has started just one game since 2004, but broke into the league as a starter and has 229 for his career.

Toronto has indicated that Oliver will not get the start as long as the game has any playoff implications for Tampa Bay.

Oliver has a 3.94 ERA this season for the Blue Jays over 49 appearances. He has 38 strikeouts over 48 innings pitched with a 3-4 record.

(6/9/2013) The Blue Jays will activate Darren Oliver (shoulder) from the disabled list before Monday's game at Chicago, MLB.com reports Sunday. The Blue Jays sent Thad Weber back to Triple-A Buffalo to make room.

Oliver had a 3.18 ERA prior to suffering his injury and will rejoin the Toronto bullpen.

Darren Oliver on rehab trail

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(6/7/2013) Blue Jays reliever Darren Oliver tossed a scoreless inning Wednesday as part of his rehab.

Oliver has been out with shoulder pain, and was eligible to come off the disabled list June 2. He is currently on a rehab assignment in Class A Dunedin. Oliver had a 3.18 ERA prior to the injury.

Blue Jays place Darren Oliver on 15-day disabled list

by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com
(5/24/2013) The Blue Jays have placed lefty reliever Darren Oliver on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder strain, the club announced Friday.

Oliver, 42, accrued a 3.18 ERA and 1.8 K/BB over 17 innings in the Blue Jays' bullpen. Oliver's disabled list stint can be backdated to May 18, and he's eligible to return by June 2.

Darren Oliver could land on DL

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5/23/2013) Blue Jays reliever Darren Oliver has been dealing with a sore shoulder for the past 7-10 days, which could require a stint on the disabled list, Sportsnet.ca reports.

"I'm sure we'll talk about it at some point," Oliver said.

Oliver has not pitched since May 18 and has allowed three runs -- two earned -- in his last two innings. He has a 3.18 ERA in 17 appearances.

Darren Oliver sidelined with bruised forearm

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(4/11/2013) Blue Jays releiver Darren Oliver will need a few days off with a bruised forearm.

Oliver was hit in his pitching arm by a line drive Wednesday, and will need a few days to recover. The injury is being called a bruise, so it doesn't seem too serious at this time. He should be considered day to day.

Oliver decides to pitch for Jays

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(1/16/2013) After his agent said last week that the Blue Jays would either have to trade Darren Oliver to the Rangers or raise his salary to keep him from retiring, the 42-year-old left-hander backed off that stance and agreed to return to the Blue Jays at his initial $3 million salary Wednesday, according to MLB.com.

Oliver still hoping for a trade

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(1/10/2013) Blue Jays relief pitcher Darren Oliver has told the team that he will retire and walk away from his $3 million contract this season, unless the team trades him to the Rangers or gives him a pay raise, according to MLB.com. According to the report, the Rangers have inquired about a possible trade, but the move does not currently seem likely.
