Clay Buchholz lands on disabled list
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:21 pm ET) Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz threw a bullpen session Tuesday to determine his availability for a start later in the week, as he's dealing with a neck injury. Buchholz ended up getting placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 9, WEEI.com reports.

Buchholz had been pushed back several times from his scheduled start. He has a 1.71 ERA over 84 1/3 innings with a 9-0 record. Rubby De La Rosa or Allen Webster will start in his place.

Chris Narveson likely one outing away from returning
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8:03 pm ET) Brewers starter Chris Narveson (finger) is likely one rehab outing away from rejoining the club, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The left-hander is scheduled to make his next appearance Wednesday for Triple-A Nashville.

Manager Ron Roenicke is not ready to commit to Narveson as a starter. In fact, he would like to see more out of him in the minors. He is 0-2 with an 8.31 ERA in four minor-league rehab starts.

"I don't want to say that," Roenicke said Tuesday. "We'll see what happens."

Marco Estrada will visit physician Wednesday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(7:56 pm ET) Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada (hamstring) is scheduled to be examined by the team's head physician, William Raasch Wednesday. If his visit goes well, he'll be cleared to start his minor-league rehab assignment.

Manager Ron Roenicke told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Estrada would not need much work in the minors before rejoining the Brewers' rotation.

Nick Tepesch will remain in rotation
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(7:50 pm ET) Rangers manager Ron Washington told reporters Tuesday he has no plans to change the starting rotation, which means rookie right-hander Nick Tepesch will make his next scheduled start Saturday at St. Louis.

Tepesch only lasted 3 2/3 innings Monday, allowing six runs in the fourth against the A's. He has not won a decision since May 12. He is 0-3 with a 5.79 ERA in his last six starts since his last victory.

"He needs to start getting outs a little deeper in the ball game," Washington said. "That's what I want them all to do. He needs to starts executing a little better. He will."

Carl Crawford begins running
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7:48 pm ET) Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford has been able to run the bases at extended spring training, but he's still feeling some soreness as he goes around turns, according to the Orange County Register.

Manager Don Mattingly told the Register he thinks Crawford is still lagging behind teammate Matt Kemp in his recovery from a similar injury. Kemp is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week.

"I've always thought of Carl as being behind Matt," Mattingly said.

Crawford has been out since June 1 with a left hamstring strain.

(7:45 pm ET) Orioles starter Kevin Gausman, who was recently demoted but expected back in the major league rotation shortly, had his Triple-A debut with Norfolk rained out Tuesday, MLB.com reports.
