Astros P Scott Feldman (knee) to start rehab assignment Sunday

(9:11 pm ET) Astros pitcher Scott Feldman is slated to begin his rehab assignment on Sunday, according to the Houston Chronicle

Feldman will probably join Double-A Corpus Christi. Feldman is coming off of a torn meniscus that landed him on the disabled list in late May. 

“It’s been just every day getting better and better,” Feldman said. “I feel pretty good with where I’m at. It’s just a matter of getting the muscle memory to be able to field my position.”


Giants C Buster Posey leaves game against Marlins

(8:58 pm ET) Giants catcher Buster Posey was forced to exit Wednesday's game against the Marlins. 

Posey left with the San Francisco Chronicle reporting that Posey took a ball off of his facemask an "inning or two" prior to leaving. Posey's day ended 1 for 2 with a single. He now has a .304/.379/.487 slash line. 


Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez out against Diamondbacks

(8:01 pm ET) Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Gonzalez will be replaced at first base by Scott Van Slyke, who will hit out of the five spot in the lineup.

Gonzalez has a hot bat as of late, hitting .324 with 12 hits, two home runs and four RBI in his last 10 games.


Dodgers CF Joc Pederson out of lineup Wednesday

(7:58 pm ET) Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson is not in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Perderson will be replaced in the leadoff spot and center field by Enrique Hernandez.

Over his last 12 games, Pederson is hitting just .220 with nine hits, three home runs and five RBI.


Rockies P Chad Bettis gives up three runs in loss

(7:54 pm ET) Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis allowed three earned runs in Wednesday afternoon's 4-1 loss to the Athletics. 

Bettis went 5 2/3 innings, gave up seven hits, walked four hitters and struck out four. In his past three starts, Bettis has struck out 12 batters while walking eight. Bettis fell to 4-3 and now has an ERA of 3.67 this season. 


A's P Tyler Clippard strikes out two and picks up save

(7:41 pm ET) Athletics pitcher Tyler Clippard earned his 14th save of the season in Wednesday night's 4-1 win over the Rockies. 

Clippard entered the game in the eighth inning and went 1 1/3 innings. Clippard didn't allow a hit and struck out two batters. He now has an ERA of 2.67 this season. 


Nationals RP Aaron Barrett strikes out two in rehab outing

(7:40 pm ET) Nationals relief pitcher Aaron Barrett was impressive during his Class A rehab assignment on Wednesday.

Barrett struck out two batters in one inning of work. He didn't allow any hits or runs, but did give up one walk while throwing 16 pitches.

Barrett is on the 15-day disabled list with a biceps injury.


A's P Jesse Hahn picks up sixth win of season vs. Rockies

(7:35 pm ET) Athletics pitcher Jesse Hahn kept batters to only one earned run in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the Rockies. 

Hahn went six innings, allowed four hits, walked two batters and struck out six. Hahn has held teams to one earned run in four of his last six starts. He improved to 6-6 and now has an ERA of 3.35 for the season. 


Mariners RF Nelson Cruz slams 20th home run of season

(7:23 pm ET) Mariners right fielder Nelson Cruz went 2 for 5 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's in over the Padres.

Cruz hit a two-run home run in the ninth-inning to help cap what turned out to be a four-run inning for the Mariners who won 7-0.

Cruz is hitting .350 with seven hits, a home run and four RBI over his last five games.


Mariners 2B Robinson Cano gets four hits, home run in win

(7:16 pm ET) Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano enforced his will at the plate during Wednesday's win over the Padres.

Cano went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double and three RBI. Cano broke a 0-0 tie in the sixth inning with a solo home run off Padres starter James Shields. He singled home a run in the seventh and doubled one home in the ninth innning.

Cano entered Wednesday's game hitting just .185 over his last seven games. The 4 for 5 performance boosted his batting average to .247 on the season.
