Diamondbacks willing to deal Addison Reed

(9:08 pm ET) The Diamondbacks are willing to deal closer Addison Reed, according to ESPN.

Reed has a 3.89 ERA over 41 2/3 innings. Reed is still arbitration eligible for two more seasons, though would likely receive a nice raise due to his role. It's unclear if the team has had serious talks regarding Reed. 


Allen Webster gets another shot in rotation

(8:55 pm ET) Red Sox pitcher Allen Webster will get another turn in the rotation, MLB.com reports. Webster allowed two runs on three hits over 5 1/3 innings during his first shot in the rotation. He will likely make his next start Saturday against the Yankees.

"Everything points to Allen making that start. There's no plans right now to make any changes in our rotation," manager John Farrell said.

Gerrit Cole goes five scoreless in rehab start

(8:49 pm ET) Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole tossed five scoreless innings during a rehab start Monday.

Cole allowed five hits over his five innings of work. He struck out seven and walked three. Cole threw 81 pitches during the outing. Fifty of those pitches went for strikes. Cole is expected to make another rehab start before he returns. 


Hector Sanchez fails concussion test Monday

(8:25 pm ET) Giants catcher Hector Sanchez failed a concussion test Monday, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reports.

Sanchez will have to wait until at least Thursday before taking another test. He was placed on the disabled list Saturday after a foul tip caught him on the catcher's mask the previous day. Sanchez is just 2 for 19 over his last nine games.


Angel Pagan to go through full workout Tuesday

(8:25 pm ET) Giants outfielder Angel Pagan will go through a full workout Tuesday, according to CSN.

Pagan is attempting to return from a back injury. If he can get through the workout without any issues, the team will send him on a rehab assignment. Pagan has been out since June 14 with the injury. He hit .307 over 241 at-bats prior to getting hurt. 


Josh Rutledge scratched Monday

(8:12 pm ET) Rockies infielder Josh Rutledge has been scratched from Monday's lineup.

It's unclear why Rutledge was scratched at this time. Charlie Culberson will take his place at shortstop. Rutledge is hitting .307 over 140 at-bats. 


Report: Marlins may be considering Tommy Milone

(8:12 pm ET) Athletics pitcher Tommy Milone is among the pitchers the Marlins are thought to be considering adding before the trade deadline, the Miami Herald reports.

Milone reportedly requested a trade after being sent to the minors upon the addition of two starting pitchers to the rotation. He is 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA and 61:26 K:BB ratio in 96 1/3 innings with the A's.


Coco Crisp in danger of missing Houston series

(7:26 pm ET) Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp underwent further tests on his injured neck on Monday, but the team is preparing to be without him for entire Houston series, according to MLB.com. The results of the exam have not been made available.

Crisp was absent from the starting lineup Sunday because of the issue and has not been able to return. He's hitting .274/.372/.416 with seven homers and 32 RBI over 281 at-bats.

Daisuke Matsuzaka to throw in three to four days

(7:24 pm ET) Mets pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka will resume throwing in three to four days, according to ESPN.

Matsuzaka landed on the disabled list with arm inflammation, but it's not thought to be serious. Matsuzaka is treating the injury with anti-inflammatories. Matsuzaka has a 3.87 ERA over 74 1/3 innings. 


Royals make several roster moves Monday

(7:22 pm ET) The Royals have assigned newly acquired pitcher Liam Hendricks to Triple-A Omaha, FOX Sports Kansas City reports. Erik Kratz, who was also acquired in the Danny Valencia trade, will join the big-league team Tuesday. The Royals have also recalled shortstop Christian Colon and designated catcher Brett Hayes for assignment.
