Cash: Rays 2B Logan Forsythe will be fine for Wednesday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:47 pm ET) Kevin Cash has stated that the groin strain that forced Rays second baseman Logan Forsythe out of the game Tuesday night is not serious and that he is expected to play Wednesday.

Forsythe left the game in the fifth inning.

Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna finally blows save
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:41 pm ET) Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna was bound to blow a save eventually. It just happened to come Tuesday night against Cleveland.

Osuna allowed a second home run in the game to catcher Yan Gomes with one out to tie it at 3-3.

It marked the first run he has allowed in his last 10 appearances.

Indians SP Cody Anderson holds down torrid Toronto
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:37 pm ET) Indians rookie starter Cody Anderson did not get a decision Tuesday night in Toronto, but he did take a giant step forward.

Anderson held the hottest-hitting team in baseball to just two runs on three hits in six innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

Sacrifice flies by Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Bautista were all that Anderson would allow on the night.

It was easily his best outing since July 9. Four of his next five were not quality starts.

Rays catcher J.P. Arencibia collects six RBI in Tuesday's win
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:37 pm ET) Rays catcher J.P. Arencibia drove in a season-high six runs to help send the Rays to an 11-2 victory over the Orioles.

Arencibia hit a two-run shot for his first home run of the season in the seventh inning off T.J. McFarland. He finished the game 3 for 4 at the plate with six RBI and one run scored. Tuesday was just his sixth game of the season.

Rays SP Drew Smyly picks up win Tuesday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:33 pm ET) Rays pitcher Drew Smyly tossed seven scoreless innings to help send the Rays to an 11-2 win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

Smyly allowed four hits while striking out 10 and walking one. He is now 2-2 with a 3.11 ERA. The 10 strikeouts matched his season high. Smyly is 2-0 in his last three outings.

Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada loses win, but performs well again
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:30 pm ET) It appeared that Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada had it made Tuesday night. He had performed well enough against the hot Indians to give his team a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth. And closer Roberto Osuna, who had not blown a save all year, was on the mound.

But Osuna blew it.

The result was a no-decision for Estrada, who allowed just two runs on five hits in seven innings with one walk and two strikeouts.

Home runs by Michael Brantley and Yan Gomes provided all the scoring against Estrada, who has not surrendered more than three runs in any of his last seven starts.

Cardinals 1B Mark Reynolds leaves game with wrist injury
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:28 pm ET) Cardinals first baseman Mark Reynolds was forced to exit Tuesday's game with a right wrist contusion, the team announced. X-rays on the wrist were negative and Reynolds is considered day to day.

Orioles SP Chris Tillman allows seven runs in Tuesday's loss
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:24 pm ET) The fourth and fifth innings were not kind to Orioles pitcher Chris Tillman during Tuesday's 11-2 loss to the Rays.

Tillman allowed seven runs during the two innings and only lasted 4 2/3 innings. He also struck out five and walked two.

Tillman (9-10) has lost his last three outings.

Marlins SP Justin Nicolino remains on roll with Tuesday win
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:22 pm ET) Marlins starter Justin Nicolino arrived on the mound Tuesday night on a roll. He left downright hot.

Nicolino pitched seven shutout innings in Atlanta. He allowed six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. He got out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the third and cruised the rest of the way.

The southpaw has given up on six runs in his last 27 1/3 innings in improving his ERA to 3.07, its lowest point since his first outing on June 20.

Braves SP Manny Banuelos rocked in comeback outing
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:14 pm ET) The first start after activation from the disabled list was not what Braves left-hander Manny Banuelos had in mind.

Banuelos couldn't make it out of the third inning against visiting Miami. He allowed three runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings with one walk and no strikeouts.

Three singles and a walk resulted in two runs on his ledger in the first. An RBI single by Conor Gillespie in the third knocked him out of the game.

The poor outing raised his ERA on the year to 3.33.
