News
Braves pitcher Mike Minor picked up a win Sunday against the Padres.

Minor allowed three runs on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six and walked one. Home runs continued to be an issue for Minor. He gave up a solo shot to Yangervis Solarte in the third, and another solo shot to Rene Rivera in the sixth. In the seventh inning, Minor exited the game with one man on base. That run would come around to score after Minor left, meaning he was charged with a third run.

With the win, Minor improved to 4-6 on the year. His next start will come against the Padres.

Santana pitched eight shutout innings on five hits and tied a season-high by fanning 11 while walking none. He has thrown seven consecutive quality starts to lower his ERA to 3.63, its lowest point since May 21.

He is set to start Saturday in San Diego against the same Padres.

Catcher Evan Gattis was pretty much the entire Braves offense Monday in a victory over San Diego. He opened the scoring and the seventh with a home run, then singled in the only other run of the game an inning later.

Gattis has emerged from a slump that plagued him upon his return from a back injury. He had one hit in 13 at-bats before slamming five hits in the last two games combined. The tater was his first since June 18.

Braves pitcher Aaron Harang didn't factor into Tuesday's decision, giving up four earned runs on nine hits and one walk in six innings and striking out three in his team's 8-4 loss to the Dodgers.

He had delivered six straight quality starts before failing to do so Tuesday. Harang owns a 3.43 ERA and 107:50 K:BB ratio in 136 1/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Padres Sunday.
