Braves pitcher Shelby Miller allowed one earned run on just one hit and one walk in six innings while striking out four in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Pirates.

Miller's longest outing of the spring was also his best, though he was unable to turn in his first spring performance with no walks. He has posted a 3.44 ERA and 14:7 K:BB ratio in 18 1/3 innings.

"When you get close to the season, you want to start feeling good, and right now, I feel like I'm right where I need to be physically," Miller said. "I've still got some things to work on, but I feel really good," Miller said to MLB.com.

News
Braves pitcher Alex Wood went six innings Saturday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.

"I thought it was good for the most part. I think I'm getting closer," Wood said to MLB.com. "I think they hit a lot of weak ground balls. Hit a couple hard, but overall I thought it was good. ... Get that next [start] done, and I'll be right where I need to be."

Manager Fredi Gonzalez liked that Wood was able to see some real game scenarios in his appearance.

"You know what was good about it today? He got himself in a couple jams," Gonzalez said. "It was nice to see that he had to get out of those jams, working through those things.

"Because sometimes you go 1-2-3, 1-2-3 every single time, it's a little different. You don't get the adrenaline, the juices flowing. Today he faced a really, really good right-handed dominant lineup and he did great."

News
Braves third baseman Chris Johnson needed to make some slight adjustments to his swing at the plate to get things on the right track, reports MLB.com. Johnson, who struggled early in camp with a 4 for 30 stretch, has now hit two home runs in the last four days.

"It was not easy during the first couple weeks of games," said Johnson. "I struggled, and it was hard for me mentally. I'm a results-oriented kind of guy. So, it was tough for me. Being able to stick with it and then see results is a lot of fun."

After he realized he needed to lower his hands at the plate, Johnson improved his reaction time and is able to pull the ball better.

"Pulling the ball is good for me because the book on me is to pitch me [inside] and not allow me to go to right field," Johnson said. "The new approach and [placement of my hands] is allowing me to get [opposing pitchers] out of there. Then when they go [outside], I'll be able to do what I want to do."

News
As expected, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez announced that pitcher Julio Teheran will be Atlanta's Opening Day starter on April 6 at Marlins Park, per the team's official website.

The announcement came shortly after Teheran's spring outing against the Red Sox. The right-hander yielded two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out three over 5 2/3 innings of work. He has allowed nine earned runs in 14 innings of work.

Teheran is coming off a season in which he posted a 2.89 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP over 221 innings last year. He struck out 186 and walked 51 over that span in 2014. It will be his second-career Opening Day start.

Wrist - Out until at least late March (Updated - 3/30/15)
News
Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich received a cortisone injection over the weekend to help relieve inflammation in his wrist, which he injured while diving for a baseball in a March 21 game against the Cardinals, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“Hopefully tomorrow,” Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Monday of a possible return date for Terdsoslavich, who was competing with Kelly Johnson and others for a spot on the team's bench/
