Shoulder - Questionable for Sept. 25 start vs. Pittsburgh (Updated - 9/21/14)
News
Braves pitcher Mike Minor lasted one inning Saturday due to shoulder discomfort.

Minor walked the first batter he faced, and hit the second. With two men on, he induced a flyout, putting both runners in scoring position. A sac fly brought home one run, but Minor was able to escape the inning without any more damage. The club did not provide an immediate update on Minor's status.

Minor is slated to take on the Pirates in his next start if he's healthy enough to go.

News
Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman has managed just one home run since Aug. 15.

Freeman maintains great overall numbers while playing virtually every inning of every game for the Braves this season, but only five of his 18 home runs have come in the second half. Despite the relative lack of power, he soared in August, hitting .330/.444/.476 in 103 at-bats. Overall, Freeman has hit .290/.387/.469 with 18 home runs and 73 RBI in 576 at-bats.

News
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Evan Gattis is aiming to return to catching for the Braves sometime before the end of the season. Gattis made an appearance as a pinch-hitter in Saturday's game against the Mets, but he has not played defensively since Sept. 7.

Gattis has been out the last two weeks with strep throat and a kidney stone. He was not in the Braves' starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the Pirates.

Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran hurled seven dominant innings in a tough-luck loss to the Mets at home Friday night, dropping to 13-13 on the year. He permitted two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six over seven innings of a 5-0 defeat.

Over his last three starts covering 20 1/3 innings, Teheran has allowed six earned runs. He owns a 2.88 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over 32 starts (216 innings). Teheran will have one more chance to climb over .500 before the end of the season. That opportunity will come Wednesday at home against Pittsburgh.
