White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton is likely to take the last two games before the All-Star break off, as he deals with a variety of maladies, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Eaton is out of the lineup Saturday against the Indians due to soreness in his left wrist and right ankle, and manager Robin Ventura said he is likely to sit out Sunday's game as well. He will take the week off to rest during the All-Star break, before attempting to return to the lineup.

News
White Sox pitcher Hector Noesi was smashed against the Indians Friday.

Noesi lasted just 4 2/3 innings, giving up six runs on seven hits. He struggled with his command, walking four hitters. He also struck out four during the appearance. Home runs proved to be a pretty big issue for Noesi. David Murphy started the scoring for Cleveland, hitting a two-run shot in the second inning. Noesi walked in a run in the fourth inning, and then proceeded to give up three more in the fifth. With two outs, Noesi allowed an RBI to Lonnie Chisenhall, and then gave up a two-run shot to Nick Swisher. He was replaced by Andre Rienzo.

The loss dropped Noesi to 3-7 on the year. His next start will come following the All-Star break.

Back - Likely out until at least mid-July (Updated - 7/12/14)
News
White Sox pitcher Scott Carroll tossed five scoreless innings Saturday against the Indians, but had to leave the start due to lower back stiffness.

Carroll finished five innings without trouble, allowing just two hits and no walks while allowing no runs. He struck out three batters and threw 43 of 78 pitches for strikes, but did not come out for the sixth inning, with the team announcing he has lower back stiffness.

Carroll left with a 3-0 lead and will get the win if the bullpen can hold on to it, which would improve his record to 4-5. He lowered his ERA to 4.19 and has the All-Star break with which to heal before he has to make his next start.

White Sox starter Chris Sale turned in an excellent performance Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Sale allowed one run on four hits over 7 2/3 innings. He did not issue any walks, and struck out six during the outing. Sale started to run out of gas in the eighth. After allowing a leadoff double to Brock Holt, Sale gave up a run-scoring single to Dustin Pedroia. He was pulled from the game after throwing 107 pitches.

The White Sox bullpen managed to blow Sale’s lead, which resulted in a no-decision. It’s unclear where he’ll slot into the club’s rotation following the All-Star break.
