News
White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton is confident the team is going to get out of their current funk at the plate, according to MLB.com.

Eaton, who came into Tuesday's game hitting just .192 on the year, is part of an offense ranking last in runs scored, runs per game, home runs and stolen bases.

"I do truly believe that," said Eaton. "I don't believe that it's going to stay there for very long. Baseball is a funny, funny game. Sometimes things are unexplainable. We are hoping it comes around sooner than later.

"At the end of the day, it's about getting them to be who they are as the hitting guy," hitting coach Todd Steverson said. "You have to fix up a few things and doctor up a few things here and there. But at the end of the day, it's making sure they are still confident in themselves to execute what everybody wants to see."

News
White Sox pitcher John Danks couldn't make it out of the third inning Sunday, giving up seven runs (three earned) on eight hits in 2 1/3 innings while striking out three in his team's 13-3 loss to the Twins.

Danks (1-3) had delivered back-to-back quality starts after taking losses in his first two outings, and after cruising through two innings Sunday, he allowed hit after hit in the third, with Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe slugging a grand slam and the Twins added three more runs after the homer.

Danks owns a 7.30 ERA and 19:6 K:BB ratio in 24 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Reds at home Saturday.

White Sox closer David Robertson needed 13 pitches (10 strikes) to close out a 5-2 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday. Roberston allowed Yoenis Cespedes on base due to an error by second baseman Micah Johnson. He retired the next three batters he face to secure his fourth save of the season.

Robertson has not allowed a run over his first 10 innings pitched.

News
White Sox infielder Gordon Beckham may have needed to leave and return like the Prodigal Son to Chicago before he found success, according to the Daily Herald.

Beckham, in his second stint with Chicago, is hitting .350 with four RBI in 20 at-bats. Manager Robin Ventura is liking what he's seen from Beckham so far this season.

"It can happen, it can jump on guys when there are expectations and the pressure gets there," manager Robin Ventura said. "For him, it might have been helpful to get traded away and go away for a while and come back with more of a clear conscience of who he is, where he's at. You get some information from somewhere else that maybe sticks in your skull differently than it did here.

"He's in a good frame of mind and that's the other big thing. All the stuff that has been said about him, but he can play baseball. We know that. He's a good player."

Arm - Probable for May 11 at Milwaukee (Updated - 5/5/15)
News
White Sox starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija got back on track with a quality start and the win Tuesday night against Detroit.

Samardzija (2-2) permitted a run-scoring single to Ian Kinsler in the first and a solo home run to Alex Avila in the second before settling down. He yielded two earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven over seven innings of a 5-2 victory. Of his 105 pitches, 71 were strikes.

Samardzija underwent an X-ray on his arm after he was hit by an Ian Kinsler comebacker on his last out in the seventh inning. The White Sox aren't concerned over his status for his next start on Monday in Milwaukee, per the Chicago Tribune.

News
White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon is still trying to get comfortable with his new role as a relief pitcher, according to MLB.com.

Rodon threw three scoreless innings in Saturday's loss to the Twins. He scattered six hits with two strikeouts in the appearance.

"It's a little more comfortable. I had a plan," Rodon said. "I felt good coming in. I just wish I would have got one of those guys out and kept it 3-3."

Manager Robin Ventura likes the changes he's seen from Rodon so far this season.

"He's improving," said Ventura. "Getting him stretched out, too, he's got to get in there and pitch, and that's his spot. For what he is in our bullpen and who he is facing and where he's coming in, that's his spot."

He's lost all three of this starts this season.
