Indians outfielder David Murphy was able to hit off a tee Tuesday, according to MLB.com.

Murphy took about 45 swings prior to the game. Murphy admitted he still had some pain early in the workout, but it went away as his muscles warmed up. Despite the progress, Murphy isn't sure when he'll return. "I still don't know exctly where I'm at in terms of how close I am to a rehab assignment," Murphy said.

Indians reliever Cody Allen turned in a dominant performance Thursday against the White Sox.

Allen entered in the eighth inning with men on first and second. He gave up an RBI single against the first batter he faced, making it a one-run game. With the game in jeopardy, Allen buckled down. He managed to strike out Avisail Garcia to end the threat in the eighth.

Allen came back out for the ninth inning, and dominated. He struck out the first three batters he faced, picking up the save. Allen tossed 1 1/3 innings, giving up one hit, while striking out four. It was his 18th save of the year.

Indians infielder Zach Walters belted his ninth home run Tuesday against the White Sox. 

Walters struck in the top of the 10th inning. With the game tied, Walters clubbed a 96 mph fastball out to right center for the two-run shot. He also singled and walked earlier in the contest. He finished 2 for 4, with two runs scored and two RBI. Walters has now hit five home runs in his last 10 games.

Indians infielder Lonnie Chisenhall snapped out of a three-week homerless drought Wednesday, though it came in a 3-2 loss to the White Sox.

Chisenhall had just one hit in the game, going 1 for 4, but it was his first home run since Aug. 4, a solo shot in the seventh inning to tie the game. He finished the game with one run scored and one driven in, while striking out once as well.

Chisenhall has struggled mightily in the month of August, hitting just .221/.264/.397 with three home runs and seven RBI, but he does have six hits over his last four games.

Indians pitcher Corey Kluber turned in a quality start Wednesday against the White Sox.

Kluber allowed three runs on nine hits over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out eight and walked two during the outing. Kluber didn’t run into trouble until the third inning. With one out, Adam Eaton managed to knock a triple. Kluber picked up another out, but couldn’t get out of the inning without giving up a couple runs. With two outs, Jose Abreu singled in a run and Adam Dunn doubled him home in the next at-bat. Abreu would strike again in the seventh inning. With a man on third, Abreu knocked a run-scoring single. Kluber left the game following the hit. 

With the loss, Kluber dropped to 13-8. He’ll take on the Tigers in his next start.

Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco turned in a dominant start Thursday against the White Sox.

Carrasco allowed one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked one during the outing. Carrasco put himself in some trouble early, putting the first two batters he faced on base. He managed to pitch out of the inning without giving up any runs. The White Sox were able to get to Carrasco in the third inning. Adam Eaton led off the inning with a single, and stole second. He was able to advance to third on a throwing error. Jose Abreu then drove Eaton home on a single. Carrasco recovered, and lasted into the seventh inning before he was pulled.

With the win, Carrasco improved to 6-4. He’ll take on the Tigers in his next start.

House allowed five runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one during the outing. House was spotted a three-run lead before he ever took the mound, but couldn’t hold it. A two-run single from Avisail Garcia in the first started the White Sox comeback. House would go on to toss three scoreless innings before coughing up the lead in the fifth. With two outs in the inning, Adam Eaton was able to single home a run. Alexei Ramirez then took House deep for a two-run shot, giving Chicago a 5-4 lead.

The Indians battled back, giving House the no-decision. He’ll take on the Royals in his next start.

Giambi struck out in all three of his at-bats. He was replaced by a pinch hitter in the ninth inning. Giambi has been out since June 11 due to a knee injury.
