News
Diamondbacks pitcher Rubby De La Rosa earned a quality start and his 12th win of the season during Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Rockies.

De La Rosa allowed three runs on six hits over six innings of work. He also struck out three and did not walk a batter. One of his mistakes was giving up a solo home run to Nolan Arenado in the third inning.

De La Rosa is 6-1 over his last nine outings.

News
The dominance of Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw bordered on the absurd Wednesday night against the archrival Giants.

Kershaw matched a career-high with 132 pitches in a complete-game victory. He allowed one run on six hits and fanned a season-best 15.

The super lefty surrendered a run-scoring single to Angel Pagan in the sixth, but was otherwise nearly flawless.

Kershaw is now 12-6 with a 2.18 ERA that has reached its lowest point of the year. He has given up one run or less in 11 of his last 12 outings.

News
It's hard to believe considering his team scored three touchdowns and a safety Sunday in Atlanta that Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi didn't have a victory wrapped up upon finishing his outing.

He led just 8-5 after five mediocre innings in which he allowed five runs on eight hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. The Yankees piled on late for a 20-6 thrashing of the Braves.

Eovaldi gave up two runs in the third on RBI singles by Freddie Freeman and A.J. Pierzynski and three more in the fifth on run-scoring hits by Andrelton Simmons and Jonny Gomes.

The five runs was the most Eovaldi has surrendered since June 16. He has received plenty of run support this season, as his 14-2 record despite a 4.17 ERA attests.

Padres outfielder Matt Kemp drove in four runs during Tuesday's game against the Rangers, but it was not enough as the Padres lost 8-6.

Kemp used three hits over four at-bats to drive in the runs. He also scored a run. Prior to Tuesday's game, Kemp was hitting .333 with four home runs and 18 RBI in his last 14 games.
