Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw struck out a season-high 12 batters and only walked one during Friday's win over the Rockies.

Kershaw surrendered three runs (one earned) on six hits over six innings of work to earn the win. Kershaw's lone blemish were home runs to Troy Tulowitzki and Charlie Blackmon. He was able to lower his ERA from 5.84 to 4.42. Kershaw (1-1) has yet to throw more than seven innings in any of his three starts this season.

His next expected start will be Wednesday at San Francisco.

The 2015 RBI Machine, otherwise known as Adrian Gonzalez, was at it again Saturday night.

The Dodgers slugger not only boasts a ridiculous batting average of .523, which actually went down in the game but he added three RBI to his total, giving him 14 in 11 games. He brought home a run with a fielder's choice in the third and singled in two in the fifth. Gonzalez owns an eye-popping slugging percentage of 1.045.

He has struck out just three times in 44 at-bats on the year.

Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig, left fielder Carl Crawford, catcher Yasmani Grandal and third baseman Juan Uribe are not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Rockies.

Puig was able to return from a tight hamstring Saturday and go 2 for 3 with a walk, but manager Don Mattingly said that the outfielder had a noticeable limp while playing nine innings. Crawford is out of the lineup for the second straight day due to illness. Uribe and Grandal are sitting for the first time in four games.

With several starters sidelined, Justin Turner will bat second and play third base, Andre Ethier will bat fifth and start in right field, Scott Van Slyke will start in left field and bat sixth and A.J. Ellis will start behind the plate and bat eighth against Rockies right-hander Eddie Butler.

Despite the multiple absences, the Dodgers are heavy favorites (-165) Sunday.

Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke will make his next start Friday instead of Thursday against the Giants, manager Don Mattingly said per the L.A. Times.

Mattingly wants to be able to keep Greinke fresh early in the season and has nothing to do with San Francisco's early struggles, according to the report.

"It's too early for any of that," Mattingly said. "This is really just our guys getting rest."

Greinke is 2-0 in three starts this season with a 1.83 ERA and 14 strikeouts.

Hamstring - Questionable for April 21 at San Francisco (Updated - 4/19/15)
News
Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig (hamstring) is likely to rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's game in San Francisco, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Puig had missed three games with tightness in the hamstring before playing Saturday, but experienced pain and is out of the lineup again for Sunday.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Puig is "sore" but "hopefully nothing serious."

The team has not yet ruled out the possibility of a stint on the disabled list and Mattingly wouldn't take much issue if he lands there, according to MLB.com.

"To be honest, if they say DL, I'm fine with it," he said. "I like the way Andre [Ethier] is playing. I'm not pushing to get Yasiel in the lineup. We've got guys in Triple-A swinging the bat. If medical says DL, it's DL."

Kendrick is really off to a promising start this season against right-handed pitchers. He is slugging .700 against righties, after having slugging percentages of .377 in 2014, .416 in 2013 and .379 in 2012 vs. right-handers. Both of his home runs this season have come off right-handers.

For a guy considered questionable to pitch with a neck issue, Dodgers closer Joel Peralta was certainly impressive Saturday night.

Peralta was a pain in the neck to the Rockies. He closed them down with a shutout inning, yielding only a walk along the way to notch his third save.

Journeyman pitcher Brandon McCarthy may have finally found a home as the right hander, who signed a $48 million contract with the Dodgers ($6 million signing bonus) during the offseason, is off to a solid start after his strong performance Sunday against the Rockies, reports the Denver Post.

McCarthy is with his sixth MLB team and seems solidified as the Dodgers' fourth starter this year.

"He was a lot better," Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki said after Sunday's game. "Take a look at his velocity when we faced him last year in Arizona. He was 90-91. Today, he was 95. He's a completely different pitcher."

Elbow - 60-day DL. Out until at least early June (Updated - 4/7/15)
News
Dodgers pitcher Brandon Beachy has been throwing bullpen sessions and said Sunday that he's had no setbacks with his rehab from his second Tommy John surgery, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"Everything is good," Beachy said. "I'm really happy."

The Dodgers hope Beachy will be able to join the rotation in June, which would be 15 months after the surgery. He said that the team's depth at starting pitcher has no bearing on how he treats his rehab.

"I'm not going to rush no matter what our depth is like," he said. "That's not going to help me or the team, if they get me back for one or two starts."

Beachy has made just five starts since the beginning of the 2013 season, and he's thrown more than 100 innings just once in his career.

Shoulder - 15-day DL. Out until at least late April (Updated - 4/7/15)
News
Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) continued his throwing program Sunday, throwing for a third straight day from about 90 feet, but he remains without a timetable to get back on the mound, TrueBlueLA.com reports.

"I don't know when I'll be able to throw a bullpen. I've just been throwing outside on the field," Ryu said Sunday through an interpreter. "So far it's just making sure I have no pain. At this condition I probably could [throw a bullpen session] but I haven't thrown long toss yet."

Ryu hasn't pitched since March 17 due to a shoulder impingement, but he isn't focusing on a specific timetable at this point.

"I haven't thought about a timetable," Ryu said. "I'm just doing what they tell me."

Ryu did say that he's not feeling any pain in his shoulder while throwing.

Foot - 15-day DL. Out until at least late April (Updated - 4/7/15)
News
Dodgers pitcher Kenley Jansen was able to throw off the mound Saturday for the first time since foot surgery, reports the L.A. Times.

Jansen, who is currently on the 15-day DL with the foot injury, is pain free and still targeting a return to the big leagues some time in May.

"Really good day for me today," Jansen said. "Body's in shape, arm's in shape."

Jansen posted a 2-3 record with 44 saves and a 2.76 ERA in 65 1/3 innings of work in 2014.
