Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday he doesn't expect to change the outfield alignment as Carl Crawford (ankle) is set to return from the disabled list this week, per MLB.com.

"I'm not really planning on making any big changes right now," Mattingly said.

Mattingly added he's happy with Matt Kemp in left field, and the platoon of Andre Ethier and Scott Van Slyke in center field.

"I like what's going on in center," Mattingly said. "We're playing pretty well. We'll talk about it. But as long as we're playing well and continue to win, we'll have conversations with everybody."

News
In a battle of All-Star pitchers Wednesday, Tigers right-hander Max Scherzer outdueled Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke in a 4-1 win for Detroit. Greinke allowed three runs on seven hits and no walks, while striking out eight in seven innings.

Greinke (11-5) got off to a rough start Wednesday. He allowed a leadoff triple to Austin Jackson before Ian Kinsler drove him home with an RBI single. Don Kelly added a two-out RBI single in the first inning to give Detroit an early 2-0 lead.

Greinke would settle down, though, retiring seven straight batters after Kelly's RBI single. However, he ran into more trouble in the fourth inning, as he allowed singles to the first three batters. The last single was an RBI hit from Nick Castellanos.

Greinke would toss three scoreless innings to finish his day, but the Dodgers could not rally against Scherzer, who allowed just one run in seven innings. Greinke lost for the second time in four starts.

Greinke will not make another start before the All-Star break. The team has not yet announced its post-break rotation plans.

Rojas, who went 1 for 3 with two strikeouts, entered play Wednesday mired in a 2-for-21 slump in his previous nine games (six starts).

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig will take part in the 2014 Home Run Derby, according to the Orange County Register

Puig will join Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton. Tulowitzki, the NL captain, still needs to choose one more player to complete his squad.

Though he's played in just over a season of games at the major-league level, Puig has displayed elite pop in the outfield. He's hit 31 career home runs, and has a .526 slugging percentage. Given Puig's propensity for flair, the Home Run Derby seems like the ideal place for him to show off his skills.

Over 322 at-bats, Puig is hitting .307/.393/.516 this year.

News
Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu couldn’t make it past the third inning Tuesday against the Tigers.

Things looked promising after the first inning, as Ryu took the mound with a five-run lead. He was able to pitch around a leadoff walk in his first inning of work. The second inning, however, brought some issues for Ryu. He opened the frame allowing five straight hits to the Tigers, which scored two runs. After getting a strikeout, Ryu again allowed two straight hits, which tied the game at 5-5. Ryu came out for the third inning, but was pulled after he allowed the go-ahead run to score. He was charged with another run after leaving the game.

Ryu tossed just 2 1/3 innings, giving up seven earned runs. He allowed 10 hits, with two strikeouts and two walks. The loss drops him to 9-5. His next start is scheduled to come against the Padres.
