News
Twins pitcher Ricky Nolasco (elbow) is scheduled to start a minor-league rehab assignment with Class A Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He is expected to throw 50 pitches on Tuesday, then 75 pitches on Sunday. Barring any setbacks, he is expected to join the rotation shortly after his second rehab start.

News
Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson surrendered just two hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings while striking out seven to earn a win in his team's 2-1 victory over the Royals Tuesday.

Gibson (9-8) has mixed ugly lines with excellent performances over the last month, and he bounced back from a six-run loss in his previous start to turn in a scoreless line for the second time in his last three games. Gibson owns a 3.94 ERA and 61:32 K:BB ratio in 114 1/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the White Sox Sunday.

News
The Twins have not only kept catcher Kurt Suzuki through the trading deadline, but signed him to a contract extension, per Fox Sports senior baseball writer Ken Rosenthal.

Suzuki has been a surprise this season with a .307/.368/.389 stat line. But he has slumped recently with three hits in his last 17 at-bats and three hitless games in the last five.

Injuries
Groin - 60-day DL. Out until at least early August (Updated - 6/19/14)
News
Twins pitcher Mike Pelfrey began a throwing program Wednesday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Pelfrey underwent surgery on his elbow in June to alleviate the pressure on his ulnar nerve. He said earlier in July that the numbness was finally gone from his hand, and it appears he's ready to start working his way back toward a return. Pelfrey hasn't pitched for the Twins since May 1.

News
Twins designated hitter Josh Willingham went 1 for 3 with a walk, a solo home run and a stolen base in his team's 3-2 loss to the Royals Wednesday.

Willingham's name has come up in trade rumors this month, but the team seems likely to hold on to him through the deadline, provided another team doesn't bowl them over with an offer. He has hit .223/.366/.436 with 11 home runs, 31 RBI and now one stolen base in 188 at-bats.

Twins pitcher Kevin Correia bounced back with a quality start but was unable to factor into the decision Thursday against the Royals in Kansas City. The right-hander permitted two runs -- one earned -- on five hits and no walks while striking out four over six innings of a 6-3 defeat.

Correia has won only once since July 21. He owns a 4.89 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP over 22 starts (123 1/3 innings). He will look to get back in the win column Wednesday at home against San Diego.

News
The Athletics re-acquired outfielder Sam Fuld at the trade deadline Thursday, and will likely utilize him as part of a platoon in the outfield through the end of the season. He has been a solid contributor for the Twins since the A's cut him earlier in the season, but Fantasy owners have not yet taken notice. Should they?

Fuld is likely to play nearly every time a right-handed pitcher takes the mound against the A's, though he is hitting just .298 against them this season. He brings solid gap power but won't put the ball over the fence too often for you. And though he is a solid base stealer, Fuld isn't really a game-changer in that regard, with 13 in 60 games so far, but just eight in 119 games a year ago.

The A's might be smarter than everyone else in baseball, but it is unlikely they have unearthed a diamond here. Fuld is a solid player, but is unlikely to be much more than low-end AL-only Fantasy contributor in his new home.

Twins pitcher Glen Perkins gave up a run on two hits Tuesday but came away with his 26th save in his teams' 2-1 win over the Royals.

Perkins gave up his first run since July 2, and he's now surrendered multiple hits in three straight outings. The hits haven't slowed him down, however, as the closer has successfully converted eight straight save opportunities. He owns a 2.78 ERA and 56:8 K:BB ratio in 45 1/3 innings.

Twins pitcher Phil Hughes took a loss in a quality start Wednesday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings and striking out five in his team's 3-2 defeat against the Royals.

Hughes (10-8) had to leave his last start after just three innings when he was hit by a line drive, but he was able to come back Wednesday and pitch a solid game, though he took his third straight loss after giving up three runs in an ugly sixth inning. Hughes owns a 4.12 ERA and 118:13 K:BB ratio in 137 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Padres Tuesday.
