News
Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson had a rough start Tuesday against the Indians.

Gibson allowed five runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked two during the outing. Gibson was spotted a five-run lead before he even took the mound, but couldn’t hold on. A solo home run in the second started the scoring for Cleveland. They struck again in the fourth after Gibson gave up three singles during the inning. Gibson gave up another run in the fifth on a wild pitch. After giving up a single in the sixth inning, Gibson was removed from the game. That run would come around to score, and was charged to Gibson.

Gibson left with the game tied, picking up the no-decision. He’ll make his next start against the Tigers.

News
Twins pitcher Trevor May can’t go five innings Monday against the Royals.

May allowed three runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked three during the outing. May got off to a strong start, tossing four scoreless innings to open the game. He fell apart in the fifth. Control issues were a big problem during the inning. May wound up walking the bases loaded. He allowed two straight singles, driving in all three runs. After another single loaded the bases again, May was pulled.

With the loss, May fell to 0-2. His next start will come against the Tigers.

Plouffe had just one hit, but it was a big one, as he brought the Twins back into the game with his three-run home run in the ninth inning. Unfortunately, the rally would end there, with Plouffe finishing the game 1 for 4 with three RBI and a strikeout.

Plouffe has nine home runs and 58 RBI in 402 at-bats on the season, while hitting .244/.313/.400.
