Groin - 15-day DL. Expected to return April 22 at Boston (Updated - 4/16/14)
News
Yankees closer David Robertson is slated to throw off the mound Thursday, which would put him in line to be activated off the disabled list when he's eligible next Tuesday.

Robertson has been dealing with a groin injury. He was off to a fine start as the replacement in that role for Mariano Rivera. He converted both of his save opportunities and yielded just one hit in three scoreless innings.

News
Yankees pitcher Hiroki Kuroda nearly retired during the offseason, according to FoxSports.com.

The 39-year-old pitcher seriously considered whether he wanted to come back for another season. While he can deal with being separated from his family for a portion of the season, he misses Japan. Kuroda continues to accept one-year deals in MLB so that he is free to go back home at the end of every season if he chooses.

Through three starts, Kuroda has posted a 3.86 ERA.

News
Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran got some work at first base for the first time in his career, and also belted his third home run of the season in a 3-2 win over Boston Sunday night.

Beltran took starter Felix Doubront deep for a two-run home run in the third inning. He then filled in for Francisco Cervelli, who sustained a hamstring injury in the following frame. He added a double and a single and fell a triple shy of the cycle, finishing 3 for 4 with one run scored and two RBI.

All three of Beltran's home runs have come over the last five games. He is hitting .500 (9 of 18) with three doubles, three homers and five RBI over that span.
