News
Giants pitcher Jeremy Affeldt made another rehab appearance on Saturday, and could be activated from the disabled list as early as Tuesday, MLB.com. The report also suggested that manager Bruce Bochy may employ a 13-man pitching staff, which could leave reserve outfielder Juan Perez as the odd man out.

"I don't want y'all to come to any conclusions," Bochy said.

News
In case you haven't caught on yet, Michael Morse is too valuable to leave on the waiver wire.

It has less to do with his .350 batting average so far (because most any player has the capacity to do that over a two-week span) than what he did three years ago for the Nationals. In what was his last healthy season, he hit .303 with 31 homers and a .910 OPS.

And he's given no reason to believe he's any less than that in two years since. In fact, he hit .291 with 18 homers in what amounts to two-thirds of a season the following year. And last year for the Mariners, he hit six homers in his first 38 at-bats before hand, quadriceps and wrist injuries derailed his season.

Morse's hot start only reaffirms how good he can be when playing at full capacity. Even if you can't make use of him yourself, you can't let a player with his potential fall into the wrong hands.

For additional context, check out our rest-of-season rankings, where Morse is now one of my top 50 outfielders.

Injuries
Back - 15-day DL. Out until at least late April (Updated - 4/1/14)
News
Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro is still not close to a return, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Last week, manager Bruce Bochy hoped to have a timetable for the second baseman by the end of the team's homestand, which comes this Thursday. It looks like the Giants will continue remain in a holding pattern with Scutaro, who hasn't been able to get over a back injury.
