Illness could keep Bulls' Jimmy Butler sidelined Tuesday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1:33 pm ET) The Bulls announced guard Jimmy Butler is questionable to play Tuesday against the Warriors after missing shootaround due to an illness. The Bulls are 10-point underdogs to the Warriors, who are 36-6.

Butler is averaging a season-low 16.3 points per game through 13 January appearances. He averaged 21.9 points in November and 21.5 points in December.

Pistons guard Spencer Dinwiddie still has to earn playing time
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1:20 pm ET) The season-ending Achilles injury to Brandon Jennings has opened up more playing time for Pistons rookie guard Spencer Dinwiddie. Although, coach Stan Van Gundy said Dinwiddie, who will back up starting point guard D.J. Augustin, will have to earn his playing time.

Dinwiddie has appeared in 10 games this season, while bouncing between the NBA and D-League.

"He made one good move right at the end of his time. Wasn't real aggressive, but he was under control and didn't make mistakes," Van Gundy said, per the team's official website. "I think his confidence will grow as he gets time and experience and we'll probably see more out of him, but he held his own and held the fort for a little bit."

SVG fine with D.J. Augustin replacing Jennings in Pistons' lineup
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1:16 pm ET) After watching guard D.J. Augustin pour in 35 points Sunday against the Raptors, coach Stan Van Gundy said Tuesday he is comfortable with Augustin remaining in the starting lineup in place of Brandon Jennings, who is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles.

"D.J. played really well the other night," Van Gundy said, per the team's official website. "I don't think there's any doubt he can handle that and we've got confidence in (Spencer Dinwiddie). I think we'll pick up another reinforcement and we'll keep going forward. It's obviously a loss and it'll make it tougher, but we've got great confidence. It doesn't change our game a whole lot. We'll keep playing."

Kings' Carl Landry practices Tuesday, could be back Wednesday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1:01 pm ET) Kings forward Carl Landry was able to practice Tuesday and could return to action Wednesday against the Raptors, according to The Sacramento Bee. Landry has missed the last five games due to a wrist injury.

Wolves' Muhammad meeting with specialist about oblique injury
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12:55 pm ET) Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad has traveled to Vancouver to see a specialist regarding his oblique strain, per The Star Tribune. He has missed the last nine games, including Monday's loss against the Thunder.

Budinger, Robinson to see more PT in wake of Hummel's injury
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12:52 pm ET) Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders indicated Chase Budinger and Glenn Robinson III will have to play more now that Robbie Hummel will be sidelined 4-6 weeks due to a broken hand, per The Star Tribune.

“We only have like 11 healthy guys,” Saunders said. “Other guys will get opportunities.”

Wolves' Kevin Martin could be ready to rejoin lineup Wednesday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12:49 pm ET) Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin was back on the court Monday taking shots for the first time in nearly a week since he had fluid drained from his surgically repaired wrist, per The Star Tribune.

Martin added he's hopeful to play Wednesday against the Celtics. He has been sidelined since late November.

“It feels better now than it did when I started practicing two weeks ago,” Martin said. “Getting it drained helps a lot.

“It was a good day. That’s one thing I can do is shoot. I’ll give it one more hard day of practice and see how I feel.”

Wolves' Saunders: Mo Williams 'pretty questionable' for Wednesday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12:42 pm ET) Timberwolves guard Mo Williams struggled during Monday's loss against the Thunder, totaling four points and going 1 of 10 from the field in 30 minutes. However, it appears a hip injury could be to blame for his struggles Monday.

Minnesota coach Flip Saunders called Williams "pretty questionable" to play Wednesday against the Celtics after watching Williams' shooting woes Monday, per The Star Tribune. Williams injured his hip Sunday against the Hawks.

Williams is seven games removed from a 52-point outburst Jan. 13 against the Pacers.

76ers guard Tony Wroten meeting with specialists, weighing options
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12:35 pm ET) 76ers guard Tony Wroten is weighing his options after meeting with specialists regarding his partially torn ACL, per CSNPhilly.com.

"I have been seeing a lot of doctors and getting a lot of different opinions," Wroten said. "I am just putting a lot of pieces together and figuring out my next steps.

"A partial tear is so different than a torn ACL. It is not a guarantee, 100 percent, that I have to have surgery. It is a tough decision, an important decision that I want to make. I want to talk it over with Sam Hinkie and the doctors."

If Wroten does have surgery, it will be the third operation on his right knee.

"I would rather have that than it continue to be different knees," he said. "It is just a part of the game. It isn't something that they can't fix. It isn't something I can't recover from."

Hornets' Clifford: Pargo still at least a week away from return
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12:29 pm ET) A day after indicating guard Jannero Pargo might be ready to return from a back injury later this week, Hornets coach Steve Clifford said Tuesday that Pargo is still at least a week away from returning, per the Charlotte Observer.

When Pargo does return, however, he could see an increase in playing time due to Kemba Walker being sidelined indefinitely due to knee surgery. Pargo has not played since Dec. 22.
